I sold a script to hollywood and they changed everything . WTF. I knew it happened but I didnt know it happens that quickly. How do good movies EVER happen when this kind of blockade is in place?
>>
>good movies
>Hollywood
Good one, anon.
>>
what do you care? they paid you for your script, not your opinions.

hi max

what are mike and jay up to

hollywood is about making money
not the passion that is required for making art

>I sold a script to hollywood

Yeah... I'm skeptical.
>>
Did rain assault the ground in your script
>>
I sold a script three years ago. The last draft I saw of it there was about twenty percent changed and they had made two of the characters walking tropes. Now I don't even know if they're going to actually make the thing, or how involved I will be, and I sit at home shitposting on 4chan and every once in awhile punch up one of my other scripts but it has left me so discouraged. I started popping oxy and hiring escorts about two months ago. Sometimes when they come over I won't even have sex with them, I just say thinly veiled insults until I can see they are visibly upset and then kick them out. One service won't even send girls to my apartment anymore and my neighbor asked me last week if I had heard crying in the hall. I said no and went back inside and ordered $900 worth of steaks online. Maybe I can eat my misery. That would be nice.

I know what you mean. I sold a script about ten years ago, and they just butchered it when they actually filmed it. Still, it was fun seeing it in the theater, even the parts that survived. Sure, they completely changed the hero to a tiny side-character in the narrative and ruined a lot of the flow, but just the sight of them exchanging my words was great. "Lotta loyalty for a hired gun!"

feature length? how much does one get paid for a script? (even if it doesnt get made)

What was the movie?

I suspect this is the only fiction you've ever written :^)

Are you telling us you sold a script that never got made into a movie and they paid you enough to live like a king 3 years later?
>>

It was supposed to be a hard edged, gritty spy thriller about a CIA agent on the hunt for a brutal mercenary. He finally captures him, and then has to drag him back to the US while being hunted by the mercenary's allies. Think John Le Carre's Safe House.

Unfortunately, hollywood happened and they turned it into a retarded action movie that had barely anything to do with my script.

Big fan of you're work.
>>
>>68787948
I'm surprised it didn't win an oscar.

Yeah, yeah I get it now. Stealth Baneposting. Very good.

1. You obviously don't know how spec works.

2. No, I had money long before I started writing.
>>
>>68788497
give me some money
>>
>>68788497
I don't know what spec is. What'd you do before you started writing?
>>
>>68788558
Only if you come hang out with me. Got skype?

I had the horrible job of being born into a family with money. It gave me zero realistic life experience and prepared me for nothing outside of the bubble I lived in for the first twenty one years of my life.

>I sold a house and they repainted it.
>I sold a car and they put fuzzy dice in it

Tell them it only took you 20 minutes to write and they'll use your original. Works every time
>>
>>68788599

Just letting you know that this guy is gonna fucking murder you if you meet up with him.
>>
>>68788650
I'm in a similar situation but without the money. Best of luck to you.
>>
>>68788746
No I won't. Probably not.

>>68788806
>shitty screenwriter
>complains about growing up rich

If all you do is write then give up now. You have to be as versatile as possible to make it in this industry. You need to know how to write, set up a shot, manage the budget, etc. The ones who think they can just sit and come up with gold and type never get far.
