The thing is, his character development is one of the only things driving the show. The external problem, the company doing well, is kinda a foregone conclusion at this point, barring any catastrophe. The internal problem of Richard being a turbo autist, and managing to overcome it is really the main conflict of the show.

First episode of season 3 felt too all over the place. I mean, I appreciate they were trying to get the story rolling but it lacked cohesion. That being said it seems like everything is set up reasonably well so hopefully this wont be an issue for future episodes.
I think this show is really deserving of being an hour long time slot instead of 30 minutes though.
