I finally went to see this to see what all the controversy is
And it's actually pretty good, I can see why it's so polarising, there's so much intense visual imagery used that it is confusing on the surface. I've never seen a superhero film with such complicated visual metaphors.
Superman had a lot going on internally, he was clearly struggling with the burden of being a saviour, and whether he should be one, and batman had so much characterisation, all the stuff about his dead parents haunting him, and the bat monster bursting forth from their graves is all top notch stuff.
I loved when they met as Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, and lex luthor has got to be the best villain we've had since the joker. He's so damn entertaining, and has his own unique motivations, really interesting to see his plans all playing out.
Such a great film. Special mention has to go to the amazing cinematography, almost every frame could be a work of art. Snyder is the best visual director in Hollywood.

no it isnt good at all.
7.5/10
Good fights and visuals clunky pacing
>>68696578
What did you think about Doomsday?
BvS was literally too smart for people.
if people actually used their brains instead of turning them off in a typical marvel movie, they would have seen what zack snyder intended.
movie of the year
>>68696928
what was intended?
>>68696924
He was a good catalyst for a 3 way super power fight scene.
If anything Lex Luthorberg felt the most out of place

>A reading from the Acts of Man of Steel
>Scene 2:13: Selected passages
>3 And I heard a loud voice from the cinema saying, "Look! Snyder's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and Snyder himself will be with them and be their saviour.
>4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more repetitive or safe or cheap comedy or quips, for the old order of Marvel movies has passed away."
>13 And so they hated him, and persecuted him. The critics crucified him and threw rotten tomatoes at him.
>14 But he persevered and gained strength from the audience, and so we will persevere.
>15 And he stands by the right side of the spirit of Kino, and draws inspiration from it, and so will his followers.
>22 During the filming of the port battle at Batman v Superman, Snyder was found wandering along the port.
>23 In one of such instances he walked on water while carrying an IMAX camera on one hand, which greatly terrified his cast and crew at that time.
>24 Affleck, out of fear, shouted "Snyder, if it is you, tell me to come to the water!"
>25 "Come". Snyder said.
>26 Affleck stepped on the water and walked for a few feet but then sank. He cried out "Snyder, hast thou forsaken me? Save me, oh dear brother!"
>27 Immediately Snyder reached out his hand and caught him.
>28 Snyder exclaimed, "Bin Muhammad Afflecki, why did you doubt?"
>29 And so the heretic one vowed to spread the word.
>I finally went to see this, it was better than I expected
That's the way every single shill thread for this piece of trash starts. These threads are posted dozens of times a day.
Man of Steel and Star Wars prequel threads are similar.

I didn't like Doomsday's CGI stuff, but he's an excellent grand menace type monster, great choice for this movie as an engineered monster, who was engineered by the mastermind behind it all
>>68696973
He tried to make a movie, and failed miserably. This mirrors how Superman tried to be a hero but became a mass murderer instead, due to having unlimited resources but not the brain capacity to use them.
It's quite self-referential in a way, truly a masterpiece of ou're days.
>>68696578
Whats supposed to be confusing about muh superman is jesus bullshit?
>>68697195
This fat shit is literally losing his mind in front of us. This is quite the spectacle, really.
>>68697452
Everyone is shitting on this film because they think it's fashionable or whatever, but if you look at it objectively it's pretty good
>>68696928
>>68697509
>great choice for this movie as an engineered monster, who was engineered by the mastermind behind it all
Yeah, he didn't feel shoehorned at all and the soundtrack whenever he showed up was absolutely appropriate.
But seriously, Zack Snyder movies are like a blueprint of how not to shoot a film.

Sometimes it's fun to come here to laugh.
>>68697562
Everyone is shitting on this flick because it's a terrible one. You should accept it and move on.
We all have our guilty pleasures, there's nothing wrong with enjoying trash every now and then.
>>68697631
It's a joy to see these inarticulate teens trying to convey the movie's complexity.
what keeps it from being a 10/10?
>>68697452
The only truth in this thread is exposed in this one post.
>>68696578
>it's actually pretty good
Shit B8 is SHIT
>>68697557
That's the first thing you should notice, he's every bit the archetypal hero, tall, big, strong, handsome, yet he has been burdened with extraordinary purposejust like Jesus
But he really struggles with whether or not he is worthy, whether he should, whether it's right, for the entire movie, he tries to do what he thinks it's the right thing by the people of earth and it literally blows up on his face, but finally when the chips are down he does what is necessary
Classic hero's journey, that's just good storytelling

Agree with everything. Toddler Capeshitters are the ones who keep pitting DC vs Marvel like some stale /v/ tier console war. True cinephiles can appreciate BvS for what it is, flawed but worthy capekino.

Perfection is unattainable anon
>>68697851
But it's not capkino either.
>>68697797
See now, you're rewriting the script. It doesn't work like that.

One of the points of Birdman is how enamored simpletons like you become with garbage entertainment like this. Noticing how many times a day these threads show up, it rounds up the irony nicely.

My sides went into the atmosphere, hit a satellite, then came back down to earth and destroyed more buildings in Metropolis.

This movie is awesome, sweet visuals, incredible action, and a plot that actually does something more than just carry the film from scene to scene

Most of what happens in this movie is there to make a cool looking trailer, and is merely circumstantially related to the next scene. That's the Snyder method.

it's literally the definition

Go read a book if you don't want to see a story come alive in such a beautiful way

The difference is the Star Wars prequel threads are sincere, and that's much more frightening.

Lex advances the plot really, the two other guys struggle in the darkness to react to the things happening to them, it does look awesome, I'll give you that at least

But Godzilla 1998 WAS kaijukino.
