Duncan Jones seems excited about this so I will give it a shot.
It will be a good fantasy film, a terrible warcraft film, and will have enough effects and psedo-philosophy that hollywood and normies will eat it up.
In other words, it will be praised by most people. Heavily criticized by fans of the series and people who look to every film expecting genius writing and say anything that isnt is auto-shit.
Also red headed Medivh is bullshit. And his turning evil around mid-way/ at the end will be heralded as masterful writing.

Judging an action movie to much on poor story is kinda stupid. It should certainly lose some points for that no doubt, but people arent exactly going to Die Hard looking for masterful writing. They're going to see an ass kicking. Likewise, you dont go to a movie like "The Naked Gun" looking for grade A story telling, or watch "The Truman Show" and judge it based on how action packed it is.
Now if Warcraft has shitty action, shitty writing, and just generally shitty production, then yes, it'll be a bad movie similar to Batman vs Superman which also did nothing wrong. But I'm going to go to warcraft expecting a basic, hands off story with some good action bits thrown in.
This shit aint a drama, its an action adventure.

Flying Dalaran sounds so much better and makes much for sense for a magical city.Imagine in 3 if they get to make a movie, it being assaulted by Frostwyrms and Gargoyles and the city falling from the sky after Archimonde destroys it. Sure, it is not loyal to the source material but it will make a great scene.
I do wonder though how the Lothar-Garona shit will be like. Might not even be that big of a deal, just tricking normies that there will be romance involved or something like that.
