Women are plenty funny, just not as stand up comedians. Comedians require a certain level of masculine presence that doesn't mesh well with current 21st century female gender roles. Raise a girl as a guy and I bet she'll be able to do stage stuff no problem.

In general, women naturally aren't as funny as men. I think it's something to with aggressiveness and testosterone. In general, funny men are damaged and need to make jokes for approval, while few women have that inate women. Instead, women need to learn it, and that's why they often lean on awkward and repetitive shock humor or cringey soft "character" humour.
There are a few exceptions of women who have it. Liz Merriweather (creator of New Girl) and Rachel Bloom both have it if you hear them talk - they just can't help but make jokes when they talk, like it's a pathological need, like you hear from male comedians. But it's rare as fuck.

I think that they're helped a lot by the format. Locked into the Cooking Parody they have what looks like a very restrictive outlet for their humour but it helps them to keep focus on the comedy a lot more than if they were working on something more free form.
Also helps that they're pretty good performers and their scripts are probably run over a few dozen times by the two of them which helps keep things good instead of just one person(stand up) who can sometimes get trapped thinking they're funnier than they are.
