Recap
>Philip and Elizabeth try and sway pastor Tim
>Paige has to get closer to pastor Tim
>Martha has a tail
>Stan and Philip are friends again
>Philip and Elizabeth fuck vigorously.

I fee like they are going to make Paige fuck pastor Tim
>>
>>68256456
You mean no spying happened. There was a lot of character development. They touched ever major storyline, and it all mixed perfectly. It was an excellent episode.
>>
>>68256606
Really? I think she'll end up killing him eventually. It would redeem her character in my eyes.
>>
>>68256705
that's where I see it too. Paige will kill him when he decides to go to the police. then she will kill the wife as well.

I liked the vigorous sex at the end of the ep. I took it to show that Elizabeth was reinforcing to Phillip where his priorities were, because he was feeling bad for Martha.

Martha is dead this season. They will confirm the tail, and Elizabeth will take her out.
>>
>>68256376
I'm so fucking tired of the Russians. They were good in the earlier seasons but now every time they cut to them now I just watch the clock.
>>
>>68258757
>I liked the vigorous sex at the end of the ep. I took it to show that Elizabeth was reinforcing to Phillip where his priorities were, because he was feeling bad for Martha.
Yep, you could tell she was thinking about what to do as soon as she saw Philipl say "I love you" over the phone. It was such a great scene really, a move by Elizabeth that is so true to her character it makes you smile, Phillip's thousand yard stare throughout, top soundtrack.

>>68258809
Yeah, they killed off Nina like a season too late. At least it gave Oleg something interesting to be doing this episode but they either need to ramp up the rezidentura plotline soon or just drop it.
>>
Are you joking? This season has been a complete standstill. I had to Google if they had fired the writers or cut the budget or what.
>>
>>68256606
>I fee like they are going to make Paige fuck pastor Tim
that's the feeling I've been getting all season. They can't turn Paige into one of 'the illegals', she is the lone 'good guy' and true blue american gal in the series. her struggles are supposed to resonate with the audience. So if they want pastor tim dead, they gotta make him the bad guy, leave no doubt in the audience's minds that he had to be killed.

only way is if paige fucks Pastor Tim or gets raped by him and then has to kill him
>>
if paige had sex with pastor tim, he would know the reason why.. not hard to figure out
>>
>>68259686
I don't think it's that nefarious. They will just make it clear Pastor Tim is about to go to the FBI or whatever, Elizabeth and Phillip will be tied up with some other shit, and it will be up to Paige to decide whether or not to kill him.
>>
Why does Henry exist? Sure, he could be used as a counter point to Page at some point, but for now he's just super fucking annoying.
>>

>>
>>68259744
exactly. there's the power dynamic at play here. it's what pedos use. it can very well be used by Pastor Tim. and then the audience will feel his death/whatever to be justified.

Otherwise, they are spending way too much time on that story line.
>>
>>68259851
He's gonna fuck his teacher

But really I hope he finds out soon, he's a way better character than Paige
>>
Anybody who thinks they're going to have Paige fuck the pastor is a weirdo. There's literally no implication of that.
>>
Wait what happened with that jailbait Phil was fucking?
>>
>>68260084
Phillip never fucked her. He got the information he needed from her father's office and he never saw her again
>>
>>68259686
>They can't turn Paige into one of 'the illegals', she is the lone 'good guy' and true blue american gal in the series.

I believe the contrary, she's already indirectly doing the job of an undercover to protect her family, by doing what her parents tell her to and "reporting" to them. Plus she is more and more at ease with the fact that her parents are spy. I think that will go on and that she'll become more and more involved without realizing it. But we'll see...
>>
>Elizabeth wondering why Henry is spending so much time with Beeman
>Henry's father is a shadow in the background

All this fucking pottery.
>>
>>68256606
>I fee like they are going to make Paige fuck pastor Tim

Not a prayer. They have no reason to suppose he wants to bang Rule 63 Seth McFarlane to begin with, and even if he did, what does that achieve? Not to mention Philip at least and probably Elizabeth too would just never even consider that.

Paige will be the killer of Pastor Tim or she'll be the one who decides he has to be killed.

Looks like next week will be the end of Martha, but thats what ive thought the whole series.
>>
>>68262730

It is, but that doesn't mean the Centre can't come up with something new for Philip to get. Curse the producers' artistic integrity.

>>68262913

Martha going out next week would be too quick. *If* she's getting got, confirmation that she's blown and her getting killed won't happen in the same episode. Hank doesn't even have anything concrete yet, so Martha has at least another three eps to go, for my money.

What you're saying about Paige - if they do that, it'll probably be quite subtle and not as overt as you're saying. More like she knows they killed him, but agrees to pretend not to know if they'll pretend not to show she knows. You know?
>>
>>68263028
Nah, it'll be contrived so that Paige is pretty much pulling the trigger for maximum drama.
>>
This season has been slow-burning so much that I can't help but think it's because the back half is going to be fucking crazy.

Everyone's tired and burnt out. Nina's dead, Oleg is destined to flip, Philip and Paige look like they're about to physically splinter in every scene and I am constantly surprised with each new episode that Martha hasn't killed herself. Even Gabriel and Elizabeth are slipping. Stan's the only one with a renewed purpose.

Great episode though - Elizabeth watching Philip through the phonebox and 'marking' him was fantastic.

I'm giving Martha three more episodes at maximum. Gabriel's putting her on a plane, or she's killing herself, or Elizabeth takes care of her
>>
>>68263981
I'm betting that the tail is confirmed and Elizabeth takes her out.
>>
Did anyone else see legs dads gun? That tt-33 made me a chub
>>
>>68256376
Wait, do people like this show?
I tried to watch the first season and I just got disgusted about the fact that every single conflict that arose was only contained to the individual episodes.
Like I just never felt like I had a reason to just watch the next episode. There was never that moment where I'd say "Oh man I wonder what's going to happen next."
Like this show was just so boring to me because it just felt like nothing ever mattered and there was never any weight behind anything cause the status quo was always restored at the end of each episode.
>>
>>68263981
>This season has been slow-burning so much that I can't help but think it's because the back half is going to be fucking crazy.
Its literally two seasons coming to an end with S3 ending on lots of resolved plot lines. This series has the slowest burn ever, but goddamn its going to be so satisfying..

Agreed on everyone but Stan and Henry being burnt out and done.

>>68263028
>What you're saying about Paige - if they do that, it'll probably be quite subtle and not as overt as you're saying. More like she knows they killed him, but agrees to pretend not to know if they'll pretend not to show she knows. You know?
I think once Paige realizes he isnt going to be "turned", she'll be the catalyst to the removing of Pastor Tim.

What made me laugh this episode was Stan saying that Philip would never do things like sleeping with other people, because hes such a nice human being. All I could think of was Stans face once he finally finds out the truth.
>>
>>68264377
You're missing out, it becomes much more serialised (I think that's the word I'm looking for) post-season 1. It becomes one continuous story and much more of a slow burn.

The first half of the first season is a little like that, as is fairly common in network shows, to drag the plebs in. It's very, very arc-based by now. You should give it another go. Best show on TV right now.
>>
>>68264467
They're probably actually fucking here too, I mean they are together so they probably don't give a fuck.
>>
>>68256456
Pleb detected.
>>
Oleg will be the one to confirm to Stan that Martha is an agent.
>>
>>68264467

Some of the best scenes have been them just living in the space, especially the office scene from last season, it had no dialogue and conveyed everything that they wanted. Rarely can a show do that or be allowed to do that. I give FX props to let some stuff go.
>>
>>68264604
>They're probably actually fucking here too

Yeah, they probably just said to the director, Let's just actually fuck in front of the whole crew and you guys record and edit it. The director was like, Cool, no problem and said to the showrunner, who was like, Well, I'll have to check with S&P whether FX are prepared to risk a massive FCC fine by broadcasting pornography. And then he got off the phone a few minutes later and was like, Great news guys! They said yes!

And everyone high-fived.

Paige is smarter than they think, she knows that their job is dirty and is sick of them hiding it from her and treating her like a child

She will reveal her power level soon, in which direction idk

I don't know why but Keri Russell is just like the sexiest woman on television to me

I dont think she knows explicitly but has a feeling, I agree that she'll let them know soon. Also, she was playing Pastor Tim hard with the

comment.

I still think that Henry accidentally will be the reason Stan finds out about Philip & Elizabeth.

Not believing in 'the cause' as such isn't the same as suddenly being a Republican or whatever. Like imagine a disillusioned Vietnam vet mocking Gorbachev's birthmark. You're not going to be thinking "Why would he still hate Gorbachev?" Why wouldn't he?

Dude I am sorry, but the first season of this show that I watched had NO over-arching plotlines. I might have well been watching fucking fairly odd parents for how tight it kept the status quo.
>>
>>68262913
At the very least they need a scene where Paige gets desperate and says maybe they should kill Tim, arriving independently of any influence by her parents. She's basically been a step ahead of them the entire plotline so far, from suspecting something was off and forcing them to confess, to revealing that she told Pastor Tim before they had a chance to take action without her knowing the reason why. I'd love to see Philip and Elizabeth grappling with the corruption of their daughter, who you can tell they both hope will stay innocent forever, as a result not of their direct action, but of inaction, as she reaches the idea of killing Tim on her own. It has to occur to her at some point, and maybe already has. The question being, when will she take it seriously as an option?
>>
>>68268178
Elizabeth's Marxist power level just needs to show up more
>>
>>68268332
Keri Russel's character sounds like a SJW in the early seasons.

Doesn't like having material wealth as part of her cover identity. Because a booo hooo hooo, there are homeless people just down the block.

Didn't like her husband buying the trans am.

Didn't like her daughter being christian, but at least her church was full of liberal bleeding hearts.

muh apartheid.

then the mental gymnastics of all the killing she does.
>>
>>68268527
What are you trying to say? She has a character, she's still shown to be a ruthless asshole. Definitely not the sympathetic one of the couple
>>
>>68268527
>Keri Russel's character sounds like a SJW
Yes that's because she's a Marxist
>>
>>68268339
>Dude I am sorry, but the first season of this show that I watched had NO over-arching plotlines

The radio-encryption tech storyline spans two episodes, it leads into the suspected mole plotline which spans another two, the denouement to which leads into Philip's infidelity, which is disclosed to Elizabeth in the next episode etc.

You'd know all this if you'd actually watched the show, which you really should try. It's actually really good.
>>
>>68263028
The best move the show can do with Paige is have her suggest to her parents that Pastor Tim die. It's the logical conclusion of their constant inaction and compromise with regards to him. The whole show has portrayed Paige as an innocent, then a victim, of her parents' lifestyle. Now that she knows about it, so much time is being devoted to her moral struggle regarding their identities. I think it's clear that Paige aligns with her parents now, not Tim. And there's such a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the situation. Every Jenning involved can see what an unstable factor Tim is. Paige has to suggest they kill him. Maybe not next week, maybe not for a while, but that's where this is headed, and it's the perfect next step in the dismantling of the Jennings family. Philip and Elizabeth have been constantly worrying about Paige as a victim being buffeted around by strong winds of the conflict surrounding her, but her agency in the situation is being explored. She's siding with her parents, who she still suspects might hurt people for their job. Tim is an adult role model who betrayed her confidence. He won't try to rape her, that would be a cheap tactic to make it seem like Paige's hand was forced. She has to start feeling the same pressure her parents are feeling, and start seeing Tim as a problem that must be eliminated. Taking her from oblivious innocent, to victim of circumstance, to corrupted agent. That's the best arc I can see for Paige, and it would be the most devastating for her parents.
>>
>>68268632
Real Soviets never believed in that shit though. They were more or less in line with Putin's Russia.

Putin the former KGB officer and Communist Party member.

If you hear a soviet saying that nonsense. It was a lie to get someone in a western nation to be their useful idiot.
>>
>>68268527
Yeah, Elizabeth is absolutely a social idealist. She starts off the series with a hardline hatred for American capitalism and social structure, because she is literally a Communist. She kills for her ideals. A huge conflict in the show is the one between the mission of breaking down the bastard America, as initially embodied by Elizabeth, and succumbing to the seductive comfort of its lifestyle, as embodied by Philip.
>>
>>68268740
Then it makes sense to fill sleeper agents' heads with these ideals, as they have to basically act as useful idiots in their western nation, cut off from the reality of the USSR.
>>
>>68268740

It's the shit they were taught in schools and was their official party line. It was a clear implication of their core ideology. The fact that Moscow had its own internal realpolitik isn't particularly relevant.

Just as an example, what percentage of the shit Obama says in a typical speech do you think he believes? Not 'believe' as in 'feel a vague sense of approval towards' but really, genuinely believe? I bet it's pretty small.
>>
>>68268657

That would be very gutsy, and tough to make believable (the actress is honestly not great, in particular. Fucking kids). I can see Paige's 'turning' being the last scene of the penultimate episode to set up for a humdinger finale.
