I'm tired of this meme. Even Kevin Smith (who I fucking loathe) got pissed at Affleck for ad-libbing like crazy on the Mallrats shoot. It got so bad that at one point Kevin told Ben "If you think your material's so great, write your own fucking script." And he did, and he got an Oscar for it.
I'll say that Matt Damon is a better actor, but even look at late night TV appearances for comparison. Damon is on auto-pilot, but as soon as Affleck walks into a room, everyone and everything in it belongs to him. He's a supernova of charisma, and you'd better believe that translates to his storytelling.

Clearly he directs well made films and has a sense of pacing, editing and composition, unlike Zach Snyder. I'm not asking for a movie /co/ can fap to, I'm asking for a movie that is well made. I think Affleck will deliver the goods. He knows movies inside and out. He been in front of and behind the lens. He's wrote scripts. I'd say this project is in good hands.
Some anon mentioned it last night, but I dig Affleck's aesthetic. The guy grew up with 60s/70s/80s movies and his films reflect that. I don't think we're going to get typical, CGI cape shit with this one. With "The Batman" we might FINALLY get a more personal story that dabbles with mystery, psychology and the like. I don't know about other people, but I'm sick of these superhero movies with their third act, "beat em' up" that always feels and looks like a video game. There's always some apocalyptic or war bullshit. The great thing about a character like Batman is that he can be in any genre and work. Affleck is known for making thrillers and dramas, I don't want to hype him up and be disappointed later, but I really think he's got this.
He'll do Batman justice, I think. He knows films, he's loved Batman as a kid and he'll put in the time and effort to make a good movie. I mean shit, based on his track record his vision can't be any worse than Snyder's BvS or Nolan's TDKR. We'll see. I want to see Affleck knock this out of the park. He was arguably the best thing about BvS (which isn't saying much). With a better script, a better director (even if you don't like Argo, The Town or Gone baby gone, surely you can admit that he's a more competent director than say, Zach Snyder), and a better style, I'm hopeful. I want to this guy succeed.
Also, am I the only one that thought Snyder and Co. didn't shoot Batman well at all? He made him look uncomfortable and ridiculous. In Affleck's hands, he'll make himself look better.

I'll have to remind you that BvS's first draft was written by Goyer, if the film had some editing/pace issues it's because Affleck and Terrio had to rewrite it completely in a relatively short amount of time.
Goyer was the problem and he was removed, but his mistakes still had an impact on the film. Once the extended cut is released it will fix nearly all of the film's problems and people will finally realize what a masterpiece Batman V Superman really is.
