That's not even the saddest Wes scene.

there's nothing overtly feelsy about it, but for some reason the last scene in Moonrise Kingdom gets me choked up
>>
The Royal Tenenbaums is a dreadful movie with awful characters. What a waste of time.

Anything innocent makes me a lot sadder than things that try so hard to be edgy and depressing. That's why Wes' films make me a lot more melancholy than something like a Lars Von trier flick. Or Charlie Brown, you know?

I'm sorry you didn't like it. Did you at least enjoy Bottle Rocket? That ones even more amicable
>>

Haven't watched any other Wes but I'll give it a try. To be honest I probably had no idea what to expect from TRT because I only watched it when I heard Elliott Smith was used in it.

Wew lad, I haven't seen to many of those auteur films, but it's things like that, which reinforce the idea that they are pretentious.
>>
>>68204196
if you're going to watch another Wes Anderson movie, do The Life Aquatic or Fantastic Mr Fox. those are definitely the most accessible Wes movies
>>
>>68203696
This is the only scene that has ever made me shed a tear.
>>
>>68204196
If you hate the stylization and deadpan acting do NOT watch the life aquatic. It's that on steroids. Rushmore and bottle rocket are liked toned down, less cynical versions of Wes films.
>>
>>68204630
but also know that Life Aquatic is the funniest Wes movie, and not coincidentally the one with the most Bill Murray
>>

lol what the fuck is this pretentious hipster horse shit

Those happy hours that we once knew
Though long ago, still make me blue
They say that time heals a broken heart
But time's stood still since we've been apart

;_; it never stops hurting

Right in the fucking throat. I can't think of another Disney movie that compares.
>>
Why does Wes Anderson draw such divisive reactions? It seems everybody hates him or loves him. I don't understand how his films anger so many people, especially the life aquatic, they're very inoffensive.

This is the one movie I've ever seen that's made me genuinely weep. Not just sob, I was a fucking wreck from this scene to the end of the film.
