Why would this change someone's opinion of whether they like this movie or not? Fucking shit thread, dicklipped cunt.

I loved it. It did everything it has to do and keeping Luke out of it was a bold decision that will pay off. They could of blew their load with this 1 movie but they didn't.
>>
>>68159052
I loved it.

Totally believable that an 18 year old girl who was abandoned on a desolate world where she barely gets by scrounging for scrap, miraculously is able to pilot a bulky freighter she never flew before, single handily out maneuver two Tie-Fighters flown by experienced pilots, use Jedi mind tricks on Imperial soldiers, and defeat a Jedi Master in a fight with light sabers.
>>
>>68159052
Loved it again. It's nice to have Star Wars back. Especially since its success left MRA and /pol/fags so buttblasted they talk about it more than the actual fans do.

I loved it. Daisy Ridley satisfies my urges as someone attractive to English women. She has one of the better accents you can potentially have and a Britcuck, and I like that she doesn't let the tumblrwhales walk all over her. Remember? They said she was "too skinny" and that she should apologize for it, but then she told them that they should fuck off.

The Force Awakens is basically what we've been exposed too for the past decade and a half in pop culture sitcoms like How I Met Your Mother or Family Guy, all reminding us how awesome the original Star Wars trilogy is without delivering any new real content in case of scaring away old fans and alienating people, you might say it was one, long overdrawn Conway Twitty joke only to go nowhere in the end, The Phantom Menace took risks and was bold in this regard, one of the reasons it is a better movie but also a disaster, a disaster but a fun one. The Force Awakens is a boring, dull exposition movie filled with the worst type of pop culture references we've seen so many times over and is a chore to watch because there is no heart or soul with it due to being nothing more than a cash in gimmick on the current flavour of the decade growing faux nerd culture trend. JJ Abrams is not a movie or film directorm he is a business man, who only knows how to market products, which is why he was perfect for the reboot by Disney and shame on Abrams for just tacking on Han's death to stop it being a forgettable movie we all figured it would be.

Enjoyable movie. Pretty ordinary for a Star Wars film though. Seems bland. Lacks the meme and hackiness of Lucas.

Kylo Ren is a great comic relief.

Dindu is also a decent comic relief.

Poe's the only one who can act from the three. Good scenes from him overall.

Snoke and General blond young guy are too generic villains.

Captain Female Stronk got blown the fuck out quickly.

Too much appeal to nostalgia. LUKE SABER DIS MILLENIUM FALCON YOU SOLO WOW GENERAL

Better than Batman vs Martha... I mean Superman.

What pisses me off about TFA is the blatant fanboyism

I loved the original 3. ESB is a top 5 all-time film. I don't get why we can't agree that TFA is pretty fucking flawed

Rey is a terribly written character. And before SJWs can throw out "yurr a man-boy sexist!!!", I'll point to Kill Bill or Fury Road, where there are actually interesting, engaging and believable female leads

The plot is ANH redux. Way too much nostalgia fan service and a tediously unoriginal plot

That said, TFA isn't completely horrible. Kylo Ren is an actually nuanced villain. The film had a good pace (a bit too fast at times) and BB-8 was a fun droid

It was good, not great

What he's trying to say is that the First Order was far too well-equipped for what they were meant to be. They should have been terrorists or guerilla fighters.

I always had an idea for a Star Wars sequel where the weird religion sort of hinted at in the original movies had taken over the new rebel government and our heroes are caught between an incompetent, degenerate theocracy and vicious, brutal guerilla fighters.

I guess that wouldn't put asses in seats though.
>>
>>68162968
Kylo Ren's subversion of the cliches was fun. Emotionally explosive and tantrum-like style instead of the controlled precision of existing bad guys, wanting to be the greatest evil possible and moping about the possibility of becoming a good guy, and being on a sibling rivalry-tier relationship to Hux instead of being boss dude of this base.
>>

The majority of the millitary might defected to it when the empire fell instead of transfering to the new Republic, and then after that was in an appeasement state so the good guys were far less fighters than they should have. Rey's backstory is unknown so for all we know she has had Jedi training and simply remembered once she left Jakku.

She didn't defeat Kylo Ren. She hurt him bad, but he was already hurt by Finn earlier in the fight. Before that Kylo Ren was strucked by Chewbacca too. Not only that he was having an identity crisis, just having killed his father. Plus he may or may not know who Rey really is and didn't want to commit too 100 percent killing her.

She also didn't just out maneuver those First order pilots. Finn gave her inside knowledge that those things can't fly low enough. Their radar gets all fucked up. Rey is also a scavanger and knew ahead of time the land and the inside of the star destroyers.

Her Jedi mind tricks could have already been there. Kylo ren could have simply just awaken something already inside of her.

Depends on how the next two play out. Its an OK start to a trilogy. If they get the next ones right this will become top notch comfy-tier star wars. If they fuck up the next two then this movie is a completely irrelevant rehash.
>>
>>68161047

White boi mad.
>>
>>68163830

A bunch of that shit isn't in the movie, so it's irrelevant. That's not a bad idea for her fight with Kylo Ren, but it's not played that he loses because he's tired. She just suddenly knows how to use a lightsaber.

Especially the shit about the Jedi Mind Trick. You do not suddenly know how to do a very specific magic trick because the force. That was the only thing in the movie that made me angry.

>>
>>68163635

People only want Poe & Finn to prevent Finn (black guy) & Rey. I've heard all these crazy ass justifications. "Rey & Finn had no charisma together like Kylo ren & Rey". Kind of funny how people would rather turn Finn into a faggot than have him get with the white girl. Also kind of funny that people prefer Rey with Kylo ren, an autistic murderer who killed her friend Han solo (possibly family too) and have an incestuous relationship just as long as it's not with Finn.

Overall it feels like just a trailer for an actual SW movie that will come later, that's how much it lacked substance.

You missed my other point of Kylo Ren possibly knowing who Rey is and not wanting to kill her, instead preferring her to turn to the dark side. Vader didn't want to kill Luke either.

The Jedi Mind Trick requires training, but the movie doesn't explain backstory. Whether you like it or not, the possibility still is that Rey may have had training and doesn't remember.
>>
>>68163939
At what point does Finn display anything that isn't gay as fuck?
He wonders if Rey's boyfriend is cute, he gets hyper excited whenever Poe is around, and he wears Poe's jacket for most of the movie.

Although in ANH he was absolutely ready to kill him.

Rey is flawed. She has abandonment issues and relies solely on herself, until she meets Finn. When Finn leaves her, she has a panic attack and remembers being abandoned by her parents. Then when she is in the new Death Star, Finn returns and risks his own life to come back for her. Something no one had ever done for her. Then when she goes down again, Finn fights Kylo Ren.

>Daisy Ridley got the part of Rey by crying a lot

>Abrams said the audition where they knew Daisy Ridley was “the one” was for the interrogation scene between Rey and Kylo Ren. During the audition, tears were streaming down her face. Abrams stopped her and asked her to do the scene again, and seeing that she could bring emotion like that consistently was what got her the part. John Boyega reportedly auditioned for Finn nine times before being cast, proving that no matter how long the process goes on, you’re still in the running if you’re still auditioning. When Abrams told Boyega that he got the part, the director told him “No, don’t react. Stay calm. Breathe.”

Amusing.

No, it's that she shouldn't be able to do any of that shit. She should be a scrappy desert survivor, but she's still a tiny girl. That scene where she just effortlessly and boringly beats up three guys is such a wasted scene. It could have been a great introduction for her and Finn. I wouldn't want that scene to be the way it is if she were male.

She should have fought them hard, first like smashing ones leg with her staff, then punching one in the nuts when it gets taken away, and then biting them when they grab her. Then you would Finn come in and even the odds. It would say so much about both characters. This is nothing to do with her being a girl, almost no male character should be able to fight three guys at once and win.

Instead, she just beats those boys up cause she's a proud womyn who don't need no mayne. What boring shit.

Just watch it. It shows her as a little girl crying in the desert and you see Kylo grab either her hand or arm and he says something like "quiet, girl!", you know it's him from the voice. Also half her hallucination was about Kylo yet she hasn't met him yet in the movie. ALSO just pay attention to how he acts around her. She doesn't remember him but he knows her and cares about her, he knew her in the past and doesn't want to hurt her. Watch it again and really pay attention to how they interact.

It's all about forcing SJW propaganda now.

Kasdan said in an interview that he and JJ asked themselves what it would be like if the Nazis had gone to Argentina and regrouped after WWII.

From birth, Jews are raised with this idea that homogeneous white societies will inevitably result in goose-stepping, ethnic cleansing, and warmongering. And I could understand that outlook if history had begun in 1930. But the truth is, whites are the most egalitarian and least barbaric group in human history.

That's what frustrates many of us when jewish SJW Hollywood sensibilities become accepted norms. They're slanted, prejudiced and their bias goes unchallenged by everyone.

The First Order was a Jewish take on ultimate evil. And because modern Jews are obsessed with The Shoah and WWII everything magically relates to MUH SIX MILLION.

It has gotten boring. It's stale. I wish we could get a more nuanced view of evil, but that won't happen because show-biz Jews always find a way of politicizing everything.

Like, recently I saw a movie set in 1920s London. There were several shots of a black man and a white woman walking as a couple in the street. It was there to sell us something. It was out of place and revisionist. It's tacky and it's condescending.

The objective is to shape public opinion with the assumption that everyone needs "educating" and are too dumb to pick up on the flagrant advertising of their agenda. In this case, it was a short throwaway scene and it still took me out of the movie. The message is basically, "You're too dumb to find the right opinions by yourself, so we're going to give you direction by placing propaganda in the media you consume."

SJW placement just seems dishonest and manipulative. Flagrant product placement annoys me whether it's a product I like or not. It takes me out of the ride that it should be, pauses everything to remind me what I'm supposed to think, and then expects me to jump back in with full enthusiasm.

I'm sure people wouldn't have thought it was great, but that wouldn't have been that big of a problem back then. Not in London in the 20s. You obviously don't know much about that time.

Acceptance of these things ebbs and flows, and it seems like when it swings one way it always gets more extreme than the last time it happened. I guess that's because of how interlinked we all are now. That was happening throughout the twentieth century.

Things are pretty bad now, but don't worry by the time we die fascists will probably be killing people for not being the right sort of white.
