That's the thing. It's supposed to be a bizarre, absurdist take on politics and celebrity. The big issue with people seemed to be that they didn't get it was a comedy and thought it was straight-up sci-fi.

this is one of those movies i can almost remember nothing of, except SWC singing "you are so beautiful" to like a big flying bird monster, and to this day, that scene is why i still burst out singing that song sometimes
