ITT: Movies that make you physically angry
Literally a 2 hour advert for E Harmony with the most narcissistic shitty plot ever put to film that wasn't by Zack Braff
>>68145391
At least Ben got a free vacation out of it.
I found that flick enjoyable.
>>68145391
Even the inescapable trailer was vomit inducing.
>>68145391
I liked it. It made me want to travel more rather than sit at home all day. Im going on a road trip this summer
>Zach Braff
literally redd*t: the human being
>>68145489
didn't he diddle a bunch of kids?
>>68145391
I also hate this flick and other flicks with similar themes. Any movie with a "You just gotta get out there and LIVE, maaaaaaan!" feel so fucking pretentious and stupid. Especially because they're always made by rich snobs who think they're somehow profound by coming to the conclusion that traveling the world is enjoyable.
>>68145391
Americans to pussy to put the 1on1 Mitty on screen
>>68145391
I liked it, wasn't bad
>>68146050
Have you ever really got out there and LIVED tho?
>>68145478
This. It's a decent movie
>>68145391
Not really a movie but Dear Zachary had me boiling with rage. It's one of the few things not even /tv/ is cruel enough to shitpost about.
>>68145391
This movie just bored the shit out of me
>>68146050
That's not what I got from the movie, sure there was the try new things idea, but I mostly got the don't be caged in, believe in yourself, and you don't have to be alone message from it. I thought it was a unique way of showing that.
I really liked the movie for the visuals though
>>68145391
>trailers make it look like an office drone is using his imagination to dream about cool shit in order to make his miserable life less awful, with a seemingly tolerable love story on the side
>it's actually a bullshit self-help fantasy the likes of 'eat shit pray'
fuck this movie utterly
>>68145478
>>68146216
>>68146322
I pretty much want you and people like you to all die hopefully on a spiritual journey abroad.
Also this is basically the same movie.
>>68145391
The worst thing about this movie is the ending.
We're told throughout the movie there is this really amazing photo they need to get that's the like the most important magnificent amazing thing in the universe, in fact the movies entire lackluster premise is built on this shit.
So guess what the fucking photo is?
IT'S FUCKING BEN STILLER READING!
>>68146364
Its a cheesy as fuck self-help fantasy for pathetic neckbeards to get inspired by. Not unique in any way. Even the dream-sequences seemed uninspired. Sure, the cinematography was occasionally great, but that in no way managed to redeem this shitshow. Couple that with the whorish product placement, Ben Stiller's punchable face, and a retarded disjointed plot. You get an romcom-tier piece of garbage masquerading as some deep meditation on life.
Any movie telling people what they need to do in order to be happy enrages me on multiple levels.
>>68145391
I don't think you'd be able to sit like that on the wing of a plane...
>>68146862
Especially when it's something as meaningless as travel.
>>68145478
Don't travel. Stay comfy inside your box and just google pictures of your favorite destinations. Europe is becoming a Caliphate and US cities are full of niggers.
Stay safe.
>>68145391
I really liked it, but then again I'm a depressed sheltered shut-in who desperately wants to explore anything, ANYTHING outside of this suburban shithole.
>>68146974
you sound like a woman
>>68147004
Well fuck you too nigger
>>68146050
That wasn't what the movie was about at all anon.
>>68146323
Hard af to watch, but a really good story even if it's horrifying.
>>68146797
No one knows what the photo was, it was from a famous photographer, he said it was the perfect cover for the last issue.
It's one of the little guys that worked every day for years to make the work of other people get out to other people.
>>68147322
>this ben stiller movie wuz 2 deep 4 u brah!
>>68147449
Its not deep at all, but you still missed the point.
>>68147480
enlighten me
>man with secure job and comfortable lifestyle travels across the globe in search of happiness
how fucking inspiring
this reminds me of that shitty car commercial where a guy sells his house, quits his job, and buys a shitty sedan so he can drive across the country
god I'm so fucking tired of this rich person fantasy
didn't watch it, could someone sum it up ?
>>68146891
The traveling is just a metaphor.
>>68148020
Why bother?
Stiller can't into drama, he was also in a movie called Greenberg where he was a whiny old neurotic cunt as well.
Peaked with pic related.
>>68148025
And then finds out it was "right there all along."
>>68148113
Right here
>>68148025
>>68148327
All I remember is how much I hated Jack Black in this and that Tom Cruise stole the entire movie.
>>68148319
>you didn't get it lol
>what's to get?
>not telling lol
okay buddy
>>68148327
literally manlets: the movie
>>68148113
Dude who works for a dying newspaper has fantasies of grandeur, a slide from his work goes missing, he's gotta travel around the world to find it and start living life instead of fantasy, maaaan.
I liked it. It was pretty and light, made me want to start seeing the world a little more. Did do a little much on the product placement though(cinnabon! Eharmony! Papa John's! My own ass!).
>>68148431
Downey deserved his oscar for that. He could've paved the way for comedic roles to get the academy's recognition, but, nope, stupid heat ledger had to kill himself and meme himself to victory.
Imagine the acceptance speech.
>>68148549
>Downey deserved his oscar for that
Honestly he deserved it for "less than zero" which was a good enough performance that its the one thing that kept his junkie ass in the business.
>>68148488
Literally projection the post
>>68146809
u sound triggered senpai
why the fuck does this abomination exist
On every level conceivable.
>>68148431
I do agree that Jack Black is the worst character.
>>68148860
because critics are evil and only M Night is brave enough to say it.
He truly is the new Spielberg
>>68148960
It was kinda weird since the critics basically loved him before this movie
>>68148890
I love how this movie triggers pedos
>Fucking nothing happens
>Cringe worthy acting
>Romance it's impossible to care about
>Somehow hailed as a classic with 8.6 on imdb
>>68149040
I don't know about that since /b/ loved the fuck out of this movie when it came out.
>>68145391
Isn't there also an entire conversation which is basically product placement for Papa John's when they just talk about how great it is for 2 minutes?
>>68149079
triggered
>>68148890
Essential 'villains who got away with it-core'
>>68146968
fuck Europe, im juts traveling up and down the coast of the US. Maybe head out west too
>>68149101
He talks about working there as a kid after his dad died and how it symbolized him giving up on his dreams. It's obvious product placement, but its nothing as bad or obnoxious as you might see in a sandler film.
>>68145391
the love story bit and all the lol so random hallunications with hipster music XD was shit.
the locations they shot on and the idea of going out and doing something with your life was fun
>that shot of him skateboarding down a hill in the early morning sun
im with >>68145478, I need to start saving and go on a vacation
>>68146050
its generic, butfun
just like those lame rom coms, or small families dealing with small drama and acting like its the end of the world. Its puts shit in perspective
>>68148989
Well it came directly after the Village which wasn't that well liked. Its sitting in the low 40s on RT so it seemed like that was the turning point of the critical consensus on M Night
Its funny to me that it only took him one critical failure to turn him into the whiny self-aggrandizing asshole that made Lady in the Water.
>>68145546
No, but he did own slaves and run a blacks only abortion clinic at one point.
>>68145391
>getting physically angry at a movie
I'd say you should get out more, but that seems to make you angry.
>>68149362
TOSSED SALAD AND SCRAMBLED EGGS!
For some reason I've always wanted to visit Seattle.
>>68145391
It's almost like someone never read the book.
Granted, the film takes a lot of liberties, but hey, it is based off of a book.
>>68145391
>DUDE, NATURE!
>>68149079
It's alright, and while nit my favorite I think it's something everyone should watch. Marx Brothers version was still better.
>>68149703
>book
You mean the two page short story?
>>68149079
Marx Brothers version is better.
>>68149748
>has qt gf and has a cushy job set up
>I HAVE TO FIND MYSELF BY STARVING IN THE WOODS AND DYING
>>68145391
i tought it was weard that the sailors wanted to go to a strip club on Iceland.
even porn is banned on that damned lsland.
>>68149793
>Marx Brothers version was still better.
Should go without saying.
>>68149748
But its actually good because it shows what really happened.
>DUDE, NATURE! I WANT TO LIVE OFF THE LAND! FUCK SOCIETY!!
>fucking dies because he's an idiot
>>68149997
He was bi-polar and possibly even schizophrenic.
He wasn't trying to find himself, he was committing suicide by nature
Why was it so bad? Why didn't anyone making this movie think about obvious awful decisions they make?
>>68149748
Turned it off when he refused to bang Kristen Stewart (back when she still looked good)
>>68149660
Washington as a whole is beautiful. Seattle has some liberal hipster areas that are...cleaner than other parts of the city but it can get old
>>68150132
Got dragged to this by a few friends. The entire audience farted at once when the credits rolled.
>>68149748
>NAAAAAATTTTTTTUUUUUURRRRREEEEE
>>68149748
is this a "films 4chan will never understand" thread?
>>68149997
>>68150134
Their relationship was made up for the movie, IRL (surprise, surprise) he didn't have a girlfriend.
>>68150401
But that includes all of them.
>>68150132
>ONE
>BILLION
>DOLLARYDOOS
>>68148327
I find it funny how they literally let RDJ get away with blackface.
