The "bringing balance to the force" bullshit is stupid. The prequels gave the Force itself agency when it started stealing away the power from the Jedi.
For an example of how much the prequels fucked things up, they fucked things up by ruining the very tapestry of the Star Wars universe.
In any other story, you never have the elements or concepts presented in those horrible movies, and most of those other stories are better.
