I remember being 13 and seeing this movie in theaters. One of the most abrasive and intellectually offensive scenes in the movie is this cut to anakin and padme sitting on a couch beginning a conversation. We don't see how they arrive at the scene; we just cut to them sitting there in silence and then the dialogue begins. I remember this being so jarring and I realized that never in my life had I seen such illogical direction in a movie. Literally every other movie I had ever seen made sense in understanding how and why the characters on screen were where they were and how and why dialogue happened. I was 13 and Lucas fucked up so royally it immediately communicated what good filmmaking was to me as a child who was still impressed with the lightsaber fights
