Being clean isn't the issue, because keeping armour and weapons clean is stupidly basic. The issue is that the armour literally looks like plastic, with the trim just looking like it was painted to look like brass.
I won't even get into the design of the amour, because hopefully everyone knows how retarded it is.

All you need to do is look how thick it is. Ignoring how it's clearly been painted and how hard it would be to get large pieces of metal into shapes like the right pauldron. If it was metal, being that thick you wouldn't be able to wear it.
Just look at the stupid pommel and just how badly designed and oversized everything is. Whoever designed and made the armour has no idea how actual armour should be, so why would they make it out of metal?
It's plastic that has been painted to look like metal. It's fine for general audiences who don't care, and whoever painted it did a fine job in that regard. It just doesn't look like metal.
