What is the best Coen Brothers' Movie?
>>
Fargo
>>
Raising Arizona
>>
>>68121509
No it's clearly not Fargo
>>68121499
Dude when the boss guy hears the assassins approaching and goes to work, that's the pinnacle of cinema
>>
>>68121509
Fargo always makes it a tough choice!
>>
My favorite is Raising Arizona, but Barton Fink and Miller's Crossing are both incredible.
>>
>>68121509
This.
>>
The Big Lebowski
>>
>>68121499
A Serious Man or Burn After Reading
>>
>>68121499
I'd say Fargo, Barton Fink or Miller's Crossing.
>>
>>68121608
Why Burn After Reading in particular?
>>
>>68121608
Both are candidates for most underrated but certainly neither are the best that the Coens have to offer.
>>
I think The Big Lebowski is the best Coen brother's movie. It's a clever twist on an old genre and endlessly watchable.
>>
>>68121608
>Burn After Reading
I wouldn't call it their best, but it definitely gets better and better every time I watch it.
>>
Miller's Crossing
>>
>>68121499

I didn't really appreciate the lead actor because his accent felt forced. I know his character is Irish but it felt like a foreign actor faking an early American accent. He was like Clive Owen in Sin City.

But Turturro was good and the movie itself was fantastic. I loved The Dane and his ultimate confrontation.
>>
I'd say a serious man, but fargo has something so unique about it.
also barton fink is a close runner.
>>
>>68121710
I always bring up Intolerable Cruelty in these threads. It's consistently hilarious and Clooney and Zeta-Jones are both excellent. I'd actually argue that it's one of George Clooney's best performances.
>>
>>68121729
Right?
>>
>>68121637
Memorable characters and dialogue, fun antics, good score, and how nothing that happened mattered in the end.

Although I guess those two are among my favorite; it's hard to say which is their best.

Tom Hanks is GOAT in this as usual.
>>
>>68121758
Billy Bob Thornton kills me in that movie, I've only seen it once but I thought it was great.

this was super enjoyable had no idea it was coens, didnt really feel like one. Had a blast watching it with my family
>>
>>68121770
It is no doubt an awesome movie! It felt so light-hearted and quaint, I guess I just take it less seriously...
>>
>>68121841
Totally, he's awesome in that movie.

>>
>>68121864
Is it really that good? I wonder how missed it
>>
>>68121865
>>68121840
Tom Hanks made the movie for me!
>>
>>68121918
Yes, watch it tonight.
>>
Shout out to this, think I only liked it for JJL tho

>>
>>68121499
Yes it was, most plebs wont get that today will just say the obligatory 'Fargo'
>>
>>68122141
I like their more lighthearted stuff as well. Their crime related movies tend to be a bit too mean spirited and cynical for my taste.
>>
Big lebowski. I'll be quoting that shit on my deathbed and in the next life if there is one.
>>
>>68121818
Good movie; I suppose it gets shit on because the original is such a classic. I love both, though.

>>68121758
Also an underrated gem. The part with the gun and the inhaler is one of my favorite Coen scenes.
>>
>>68121758
>I'm gonna bust yo ass

What did he mean by this?
>>
>>68121710
Does it ever get good enough to watch it all the way through?
>>
>>68124712
Yeah
>>
>>68121499
>>68121509
Fargo

No Country for Old Men too
>>
>>68121499
Not this one.
>>
>>68124797
Fargo is great but anybody who says No Country has their head up their ass. It was a pity Oscar just like Leo's.
>>
>>68124838
You literally have no idea what you're talking about. No country is easily top 15 greatest movies of all time
>>
Blood Simple was my favorite. Inside Llewyn Davis was my second

>>68124838
No Country was amazing. Great source material and great film.

Fuck, what's up with the Coen's and characters named Llewyn? They secretly Welsh?
>>
I feel like Hail Caesar doesn't get enough credit
>>
O'Brother tbqh.
>>
>>68121499
Between A Serious Man, No Country for Old Men and Inside Llewyn Davis. Fargot gets a HM.
>>
>>68121499
the one where the jew character is a devious, but basically incompetent and ultimately benign, victim of the goyim's misplaced hostilities.
>>
>>68124838
>anybody who says No Country has their head up their ass

You have done it, you have become a true /tv/ contrarian. We're all very proud, son.

Barton Fink, followed by Miller's Crossing and The Big Memeowski. HMs for O Brother and No Country. Inside Llewyn was also pretty good.
Never liked Fargo much and don't care for the rest or haven't seen them in a long time.
>>
Miller's Crossing is better than Barton Fink.
>>
Fargo followed by A Serious Man. The ending for Barton Fink is spooky.
>>
No Country

its pretty much perfect
>>
>>68121710
>We thought... you might be worried... about the security... of your shit.
>>
>Not saying True Grit
Fuck fargo
>>
1) A Serious man
2) Fargo
3) Barton Fink
4) No Country for Old Men
