The Courtship of Princess Leia is better than what we have seen of Rouge One

Some is gold, some is shit. A lot of EU is shit, actually.
It's golden part is its great level of detail and, surprisingly, internal consistency. It even impressed George himself, so much that he originally wanted to include Darth Revan and Bane as Force Ghosts in one of the TCW episodes.

it's all held together pretty well
My estimation is that it will remain as the one true side canon. It's already too developed and I don't think old fans would get on board Disney canon. All the new stuff will take ages to gain momentum, I just don't see it worth being anything because it'll be so obviously filtered through various pc pandering. It just won't be authentic.
