I thought it was great except for the story

Well it wasn't ever really advertised as anything more than a REALLY action-y movie.

And holy shit it was action-y. I loved it - nothing gets your blood pumping like getting to see all that killing from the character's eyes. And the humor was pretty great.

How nonstop is it? I feel like if the movie is just nonstop action you become desensitized to it

I think there are maybe two parts in the movie where the action stops for more than 5 minutes. And no you don't get desensitized by it by the end, it keeps getting more and more over the top culminating with henry pulling his eye out and wrapping it around the bad guys neck and decapitating him with it.

that's what made the movie good though, it wasn't just endless action -- which would have been entirely boring on its own -- the sci-fi elements are fantastically integrated and cleverly used (like based jimmy)

If you don't get motion sickness easily then this movie rocks. It's nothing but action, though. Not that it stops being fun to watch - every action scene tops the last, to the point where the last scene has him stone-stepping the bodies of the people he killed to reach the flying baddie (long story).

Really watch this for the black humor/fucking sick fight scenes. The story was shit because it doesn't play pretend about its intent and audience, the only really bad thing is the camera shake for some people.
>>
Loved every single second of it, never felt any motion sickness, the story was fine for a non-stop action movie, it still carried you along with finding out Henry's past right alongside him, Colonel Jimmy is best, and I actually liked Akan a lot. Think about Akan and how incredibly easy it is to make him stupid and corny as hell, but they pulled it off, imo.

he was just the first successful cyborg-soldier that Akan wanted. He kept him alive so they can keep harvesting combat experience from him to siphon to other cyborg-soldiers.
>>
>>68079178
Henry was the first. Akan probably wanted to test his abilities and improve what he could, and then just have Henry offed by the army he created by the end.

Henry wasn't the first cyborg-soldier. However, all the ones made so far were aimless because of their lack of emotion, memories, empathy - things which make up motivation. So he put all of those things (except memory) into Henry which allowed for actual reason to fight. He took all the footage of him fighting into the cyber-soldiers brains so they can fight like he does.

Then Henry killed the Big Baddies real EZ anyway.

Reviewers are shitting on it so I'm not seeing it.

Nah. Henry actually did wake up w/o memories to a fake wife. The other 'borgs are just recieved the same memory with her saying a different name.

One of the plot holes is "why don't they question where they are/why there are dozens of other mind monkeys around them?" Maybe they aren't given higher thought/free thinking like Henry has.
>>
Just got back from it. Good lord was that fun. I found myself with a big stupid grin halfway through the movie, even caught myself jumping back whenever Henry got hit.

Also
>That fucking adrenaline scene

>>
>>68074914

way too much motion blur. they should have done like the hobbit a few years ago and shot in a higher frame rate, i think that really would have helped. resolution looked bad at times too, as if they were actually filming it with a go pro

kind of funny that the movie is basically a video game and the main problems are frame rate and resolution
>>
>>68075838

its kind of non stop but they pace it out so that its not just the same shit

like early on there's a parkour sequence, then a little later they're jumping around in vehicles and stuff. the final fight sequence is pretty great, it starts off bland ish and builds up in brutality the more it goes on. i wasn't really ever bored of the violence, but the shaky cam did get on my nerves a lot
>>
Convinced my friends to watch this instead of BvS tonight.

I feel sorry for people who get physically sick watching some movies. That must suck.

I enjoyed this movie though, but I agree it needed a higher framerate. It surprised me with how violent and gory it was though and it just kept escalating the entire movie. Not complaining I just thought that was interesting.

I love Sharlto Copley.

So if they were just testing his abilities, was Jimmy not in on it or something? And Akan sacrified most of his soldiers just to test Henry. Brutal motherfucker.

Jimmy was an ex-employee who was crippled by Akan (IS A MASSIVE CUNT!) and vowed vengeance. I don't think he was in on it.

I dunno why, though. Dude gets copies of himself. He can throw away his life and still have another, and spine cripplage was all he needed to be motivated to do it.

Garbage movie set to pander to Let's Play audiences. Theater was packed with 13 year old future dudebros.
Besides that it was just okay. It felt more like a straight-to-netflix feature rather than a fullblown movie, like that one where the guy goes on a rampage shooting spree then ditches the armor he wore and that's it.
