>Audience score higher than TFA
>"We need more generic Marvel"
>"It's too dark for a superhero movie"

The fact that /tv/ prefers shit like TFA over BvS points at your ignorance.
>>
i loved both of them

TFA is a good movie. That's the consensus and it will never change.

Metacritic user scores are unreliable because of all the people who go there and spam 1 scores
>>
>>67986318
It's not, it's literally a rehash and nothing original. BvS is a masterpiece next to TFA

>Implying ImdB is better
>TFA in top 10 Imdb list.
>ayyyyyyyyyyyyyylmao

Metacritic has people downvoting far more than Imdb or RT.

You are now aware that you live in a world, a terrifying world, where there are people right this moment who use terms such as "canon" and "cinematic universe" when talking about films and television shows.

A terrifying world where imagined characters on a screen are required, according to those who discuss them, to adhere to "ground rules" set out by the creators of said-characters. A terrifying world where those that discuss these characters and their actions, are actually enraged if said-characters deviate from the mannerisms expected of them, the mannerisms that may have initially been set in the pages of a comic book.

Think about that. A comic book. For children. Yes, pictures and words on the same page, which are meant to be read by children, that are actually read by adults who then bicker and express their frustration at film-adaptations of these comic books not being "faithful". Faithful to a comic book. That's supposed to be read by young children.

This is your world. This is the world of capeshit. Terrifying, isn't it?
>>
>>67986540
If anything is "capeshit" it's generic superhero movies aka Marvel and Disney & Pixar.

We have Transformers already for full clusterfuck actionfests, Marvel is trying too hard to copy Michael Bays Box Office records.
>>
>>67986318
It's a flick at best, and because Disney have it we will never have closure or a definitive ending, which we technically already have.
>>
>>67986375

>>
TFA kept me entertained in the cinema but I couldn't get 20 minutes into it the 2nd time round. BvS was spectacular first time and even better the second
>>
Both are shit. TDK and Winter Soldier already proved that people also want darker capeshit than say Guardians of the Galaxy. BvS was just a piece of shit that wasted it's potential. Just deal with it.
>>
>>67986228
Cause Disney paid for reviews
>>
IMDB:
>Episode 7: 8.3/10 from 491,491 users
>BvS: 7.3/10 from 224,910 users

RT critics:
>Episode 7: 92% FRESH, average score of 8.2/10
>BvS: 29% ROTTEN, average score of 4.9/10

RT users:
>Episode 7: 89% liked it, average score of 4.4/5 from 208,954 user ratings
>BvS: 70% liked it, average score of 3.7/5 from 192,404 user ratings

But yes, continue using Metacritic, which is literally <5% of the sample size.
>>
I don't remember the user score being that low. I bet a lot of those are 0s from dumb prequel lovers who fell for the contrarian meme.
>>
>>67986264
>>67986328
Nah most people that like movies go out to dinner after, they don't go to the nearest wifi spot and post their dumb fucking reviews like "Why is DC allergic to fun and happy movies"

And honestly both movies could have been better but I liked them both anyway. Not being perfect gets you a lot of "This is shit and if you like it you are a pleb!"
>>
>>67986228
i hated them both

The WB shilling in this thread is almost as on the nose as Snyder's symbolism
>>
>>67986228
Imagine what M.O.S and BvS could have been.

Fuckin zack "bull in a china shop symbolism" snyder ruined DC for at least a decade before they can reboot again.
>>
>>67986318
>and it will never change

Thats what phantom menace fans said back in the day. Oh I've looked forward to this, the slow, delicious realisation over many years that, once the hype and the marketing are gone, the movies can't stand on their own two feet.

But no, I'm sure the throwbacks and fan service in TFA will age like wine, certainly won't feel redundant when watching it for the 100th time in 2026
>>
>>67986228
But I do like BvS better. Both were narrative messes due to studio meddling, but at least BvS has artistic value.
>>
>>67986228
TFA is a good movie, score, characters, camera, script. BvS is just a fucking mess from a hack director edgy dark shit
>>
>>67988727
Yeah, from the critics' scores, where BvS is a full 37 points below TFA. OP is talking about the user scores.
>>
>>67990024

TFA is a goddamn rehash.
>>
>>67990024
>score
None of the songs are even good, they're just kinda there like any marvel movie. It was one of the biggest disappointment for me since the soundtracks have always been great. They even got fucking John WIlliams back just to make fans happy and then made sure what he wrote was as generioc as possible. BvS, while not very good either, at least has their Superman theme which is GOAT
>characters
What characters? Who mean the robots who become best friends for life after knowing each other for one minute, and quip at each other no matter what horrible situation they are in?
>camera
Come the fuck on, say what you will about Zack Snyder, but the man knows how to put a shot together. Meanwhile, I haven't seen a creative shot in any Disney movie in at least ten years. They have to stay safe, make sure they don't ruffle any feathers at all no matter how small.
>script
Both of the scripts are complete messes. Not Snyder's or Abrams' fault, that's just how it is with these big movies. After they're written, a fuckton of other people go over it until it's full of plot holes and convenient circumstances to make the basic story still work while jiving with all the changes they made.

it is a good movie in the same way Thor was a good movie. Sure it was fun to watch and there was nothing outright terrible about it, but strip away the star wars brand and keep the rest of the movie in tact all you get is an incredibly basic sci fi movie for kids.
There is nothing special about the Force Awakens. Its not awful, its not even bad, but it isnt perfect. It just is. In 20 years people will still be talking about the prequel and original trilogies more than they will this sequel trilogy if they continue to play it so safe.

All user scores are useless for this same reason. Anyone who seeks out a movie to vote for it on the internet is either going to give it a 10 or a 1. It's a useless metric.

THIS, desu senpai.

>There's tons of far better capeshit so I don't see why you feel the need to go out of your way to defend BvS

Also agree to a certain extent, but i do prefer BvS over TFA because at least BvS had the balls to try something different. I'd say it failed, but not as hard as memers here would lead to believe.

TFA was bland and rehashed it makes White Bread seem like the most interesting flavor and texture in the universe. Not awful, but uninteresting and numb.
