I mostly agree. I much preferred the Clone Wars art style, all the roundness in Rebels really puts me off. Plus there are pretty much no characters I can be bothered to care about, at least TCW had Anakin, Obi-Wan and the clone bros. It seems like much more of a kids' show than the good parts of TCW.
It feels fairly straightforward directed at kids whereas I felt CW was more mixed audience. I agree the art style is pretty bad; floaty and overly clean compared to CW which often had lots of details on the characters.

It feels like Rebels are almost scared to focus on the main characters. Like they'll have a throwaway episode where Lando or Leia comes in and doesn't really do anything.
It would have been cool if (like Clone Wars) each episode was like a vignette that focused on Han, Lando, Leia, Luke or even some of the minor characters under the Empire occupied galaxy. Rebels feels so closed off whereas Clone Wars explored the whole galaxy. Kind of to fill in the gaps of where each of the characters was in between 3 and 4. Like Clone Wars was to Episode 2 and 3

The Clone Wars had a much bigger budget because Lucas was willing to pay for it all out of pocket. That's why the animation was so top notch. I think some episodes cost over 1 million to produce.
That being said, of all companies Disney should have the money to afford better quality animation than what we have in Rebels.

It's because Rebels is about the crew of one ship.
That's literally the reason. Every single episode is about the crew of the Ghost, without exception.
The Clone Wars could have episodes like that, because the protagonist of The Clone Wars isn't Anakin, it's not Obi-Wan, it's not Ahsoka. It's the entire galaxy itself, the same way the cathedral is the protagonist of the novel Hunchback of Notre Dame. So you can have episodes that are about just about anyone involved in the war, because the point of the show is how the war is transforming the galaxy.
To put it differently: Rebels is to Firefly as The Clone Wars is to Game of Thrones.

Really, all Rebels needs to do is to stop painting the Empire as cartoonishly evil bad guys and start painting them as grey, with Stormtroopers and officers who want to make the galaxy a better place with good intentions and show another side to the story. You guys absolutely nailed it. They made the mistake of not only following just one group of people, but there was no one in that group worth giving a shit about in the first place.
The gap between episode 3 and 4 is so ripe for a galaxy spanning series that shows how hard life under the Empire is. Lots of characters and stories, some familiar ones, some new. Could have been a really great show that makes the canon even richer instead of just following around space Aladdin and his boring friends.

I've literally only seen the last episode of whatever season just finished, so ignore my opinion.
It feels like Rebels seems to sit in a pool of mediocrity and sometimes dips it's toe in greatness, but is too reluctant to make the plunge. The art style, the characters, the dialogue, the shameless cameos- all are on the right path but seems to just fall short, most likely due to the fact that it has to cater to a kids audience; seemingly more so than clone wars did. It's kind of disappointing because it sounds like it has huge potential but then they go and make cartoon tumblr girls and faceless enemies that use lightsabers as fucking helicopter blades.

I'm semi-OK with the pencil sabers, but that yoda design just goes against everything that was established in the movies/TCW and all other relevant media. Plus even if you disregard the discontinuity in the design it still looks like ass. TCW Yoda in pic for comparison.
It has its moments. Definitely not as good as the clone wars but the season finale was great and showed that the show is dedicatedly going to get darker and more adult like the clone wars did. It was actually a really good episode. On par with a lot of the better episodes of the clone wars

It's left ambiguous, but Ahsoka dying to Darth Vader was/is the best ending for her, given how her entire existence was as a way of illuminating Anakin. I don't think she should've survived TCW. I don't think she ever made a lot of sense in general, and having her live through everything doesn't feel genuine. Maul's revival and continued survival is even worse.

If you've watched season 1. You can pretty much figure out how things will go in most filler episodes. There are pretty few instances where they show different dispositions like Kanan & Rex and later on in the season Ezra.
