Russians don't really dig Russian flicks. We prefer American kino. The only interesting thing that comes into my mind is Pavel Klushantsev's works if you're interested in old SFX.

300 is about oral tradition of retelling history from the eyes of the victor.
The Odyssey(1997) is a pretty good comfy miniseries.
There is another one about Jason and the Golden Fleece too that was decent.
Stay away from the more recent sandalshit like Wrath of the Titans and such.
