Why couldn't all the other marvel movies have been this good?
>>
Cap 1 was better u pleb
>>
>>67908656

I really don't understand the admiration for this movie. Even by Marvel standards I thought it was pretty mediocre. Not terrible or anything, but nothing special
>>
>>67908656
iron man 1
>>
>>67908698
Just saw it yesterday. It was one of the crappiest movies I have seen in a long time.
>>
That one wasn't good either
I get that it panders to your videogame depth sensibilities, but that still doesn't make it good
>>
>>67908807
None of the Marvel movies are "good"
>>
>>67908740
I feel like people forget the second half of this film, where it stops being good.
>>
The best is obviously ...... Thor ..... you mongoloids.

Yes why couldnt all movies be this mediocre.

>>
>>67908737
It's a spy thriller that happens to have a super hero in it.
>>
>>67908656
Ant-Man
>>
>>67908924
The whole movie is just cap'n'friends outrunning random baddies gunfire at various locations. Sometimes Winter Soldier shows up and leaves almost immediately. No interesting characters or plot to be seen. Some bullshit about SHIELD that I don't give a fuck about. fin.
>>
>muh jason bourne flick

Bucky was kinda neat, but otherwise eh.

There's so many fight scenes that feel and look the same in this movie it's not even funny. Like at least 4 or 5 of them. And there were more than that altogether.

because all the fighting is up close and personal which helps the movie. its hard to be as engaging when its just people firing lazer beams and bolts at each other
>>
Days of Future past came out around the same time and was far better. Bryan Singer is the best capeshit director after Nolan.
>>
I really don't want to rewatch all the Marvel movies just to get back to this one.

Sadly I barely remember this one, along with Captain America 1, Thor 2 and Iron Man 3. I know I've seen them, I just don't remember anything about them.

What do I need to know again? Captain America's friend Bucky "died", there's an evil not-Nazi organization called Hydra, and some ambiguously-goodies called SHIELD?

Can I just dive straight back into this one?
>>
>>67909107
Good but i want to hear the answer.

>>
>>67908656
It was decent
Pros:
>political themes weren't too retarded
>SHIELD turning out to be evil
>decent action

cons:
>bad cgi
>shitty final fight
>deus ex machina with cap, falcon, and nick fury
>>
>>67909245
DOFP is as mediocre as the rest of capeshit.
>>
>>67909260
>What do I need to know again?

Literally nothing.

Iron Man 3's entire point is rendered moot once AoU rolls around, Thor 2 has no bearing on anything, Cap 1 is pretty fucking boring and all you need to remember is he becomes and enhanced soldier and gets frozen in ice.

But yeah you can watch this one without even having seen any other Marvel films
>>
>>67909333

Wasn't some space laser going to destroy the Earth or something?

In the Civil War trailer, they mention other catastrophes but they don't even bring that one up?

I have seen the other Marvel films, I just don't know if I could stomach rewatching them ALL again.

I watched Ant-Man recently and I had no idea who The Falcon was, even though he's an established character.
>>
Is Coulson ever coming back to the movies.
>>
>>67909619
No one wants to bring Thor movies.
Maybe it's not in the trailer but it's in the movie.
>>
>>67908656
Because after Cap 1 literally no one had expectations for this one, so more freedom was given.
>>

Its Mission Impossible and Jason Bourne featuring Captain America.

That's both good and bad.
>>
>>67909333
Why is Seth Green uncredited in this
>>
>>67910082
He's in the opening credits but not the end credits. I found an interview where he talked about it

>As a sidenote: when I got that part in Enemy of the State, it was at the same time that Austin Powers had blown up on DVD and I had just made Idle Hands (or just finished it), I was in production on Buffy, and it's one of those weird things when your agents want to help elevate you to a particular type of stature and when they can't get the particular credit deal that you want, their recommendation is that you go uncredited. I got asked to do that part, and it was a very little 1-2 day shoot, after they tested the movie the audience had questions about what exactly was happening to Will Smith's character and they needed cutaways to the guy in the van to explain what was happening and clarify the narrative. And so I became friendly with Tony Scott and they asked me to come do all that stuff and it turned into what looked like a much larger part. All of a sudden I'm the director of the task force and it's just so funny. It was a one day thing that turned into a character that had gone throughout the movie and we had already made a deal that it would be uncredited, and then it turned into something where people were like "why were you uncredited? Were you embarrassed of doing the movie?" but I'm a huge fan of Tony Scott and remain privileged to have gotten to work with him like that.

This movie is by far one of the worst of Marvel. If you rewatch it you'd understand but most likely you've been brainwashed by your fedora-tipping euphoria.

Better Marvel:
>Iron Man (literally all of them)
>Deadpool
>Thor
>The Avengers 1 and 2

this movie is fucking terrible

I love it. The first season has a lot of procedural drama style episodes which annoys a lot of people, but once the show starts focusing more on the backstories of the main characters and season-long arcs it basically switches over to a sci-fi thriller (though there's still the occasional procedural). Try the pilot and see what you think.
>>
>People talking about X-Men in the context of Marvel movies

Do they really count? Fox is in charge of X-Men, that's why they had a different version of Quicksilver. People rarely count the Fantastic Four movies as 'Marvel movies' for the same reason.

I think taking the comic material to the live action medium has a limit for its own good. Russ brother just took those materials & smudge into the practical event that could happen in real world. Those different applications may seem the same difference, but the different mechanics make variety outcome in the result.
