You can listen to the movie and give up trying to understand the mechanics, but it's even less satisfying than pulling apart the shitty logic for what it is.
>>
Paradox =/= plot hole

Name uno

If Paul Dano got his limbs chopped off when he was young then old Paul dano would have always had his limbs chopped off instead of what we got

>It's impossible kill people in the future
>But we can kill Bruce Willis's wife no problem
>>
>>67883625

The timeline isn't a straight line ya dingus.

It's like terminator, not back to the future.
>>
>>67883106
It don't matter. None of this matters.
>>
>>67883106

Right? Who is gonna believe JGL would look like Bruce Willis when he's older?
>>
I loved the first half of this movie, up until it turned into a boring hostage flick. Not even gonna get into the time travel confusion. All of that was forgivable until they threw it all away for some gimmicky Willis-vs-Levitt battle of wills
>>
>>67883625
Doesn't matter since he's classic
>>
>>67883878
what matters?
>>
>>67883851
>>67883106
No bro

Its more like Back to the Future then Terminator.

Terminator is fatalistic. You CANNOT change the past or the future. Its why they made T3, to refute T2's ending.

Looper works because you can change time in Looper, like BttF.

Wibbly wobbly timey wimey - get over it.

In most any time travel flick, plot holes are expected and thus forgivable.

Granted, they tend to be more paradoxes, than plot holes, but well, a paradox is kinda like a plot black hole.

The only exception to the rule I can think of is PRIMER, but the plot's so hard to follow in that one, you might miss a hole or two.

Any other exceptions anyone can name?

Can someone explain why JGL looked comically bad in this?
>>
>>67884460
makeup to make him look more like bruce willis
>>
>>67884460
they wanted to cast jeff wolfe but then they remembered that he's just a stuntman so they modeled jgl after him
>>
>>67884628
I heard about this but I still don't understand. It looks absolutely fucking nothing like Bruce Willis, regardless of the age gap. Is it some big fucking joke I didn't get from the production crew?
>>
>>67884460
Because sometimes it's just better to use fucking CGI than practical. Or at the very least hire a better make-up artist. He looks like a fucking wax dummy.
>>
>>67884746
The makeup was supposed to make his cheeks and eyebrows look like Willis I think but yeah he just looks like a monkey to me

Every time.
>>
>>67883599
If murder is impossible to get away with in the future, why did the thugs just randomly shoot Bruce Willis ' wife, then feel the need to go take him to the time machine?
>>
>>67887198
maybe they were planning to send her body right after bruce
>>
>>67883599
It would have been easier to have someone else close your loop rather than do it yourself.
>>
>>67883106
>>
>>67888673
Its a form of insurance.

Self suicide is hard. That, and the fact that time could be changed meant that its not certain if a looper would shoot himself.
>>
>>67884159
could you explain a little more what you mean by a "plot paradox" and how that functions like a plot hole or black hole.
