but the girl was dominating the situation. She was the one with the gun and she was the one that set up the whole ordeal. It doesn't matter what he did after the fact or whether or not he was sane and rational, he followed along with his crazy wife's wishes because he was the submissive in the relationship. It's literally like that with every couple in this show; the girl is the dominant force that sets the direction of the couple. Even the with brother/sister neighbors, the guy was literally an autistic buffoon and his sister controlled his entire life. Killgrave's mother dominated all of their scenes and forced his father-who was portrayed as cowardly-to go along with it.

The only enjoyable characters in the show were Jessica, kilgrave and luke. literally everyone else were completely unlikable and annoying. Even the lovable crack head became completely insufferable as soon as he got cleaned up. The problem isn't with the message, it''s with the inability of the writers to create good original characters.
