>very clearly dropping out of a portal

he's too good for capekino.
what exactly are they doing?
>>67864512
he's a great actor and his performance along with mads will not sit right with everyone else's in the movie, let alone the MCU as a whole
too bad he looks like that
Is that from the Power Rangers movie?
>>67864564
He's not even an average actor, he's all-around pretty bad.
>>67864560
Top kek

Please put him into some BvS scene

coming out of an interdimensional portal, I guess

this.
him and chris lee were probably some of the most overhyped actors in recent memory.
>>67864512
Or he's just embarrassed about what he's being made to do.
>>67865004
Why would he be embarassed of that after this?

acting in a movie?

He was, no doubt about that, but the point is that filming this kind of movies always looks ridiculous.
>>67865045
what the fuck is the point of this?
>>67865045
Oh god why?!
>>67865163
He's Smaug, I think they take some movements and facial recognition from him.
>>67864560
What the fuck is Buck doing?
>>67865163
he gets paid for that. he pretends to be someone else. It is called acting
>>67865177
Method acting. If you're playing a dragon, going on all fours is kind of useful, seeing as most dragons aren't bipeds.
>>67865109
>dragon
You mean to say wyvern, correct?
>>67865279
>wyvern
You meant to get a life. Correct?

but he's had some shit roles too

You mean to say poodle, correct?

Wasn't it a Wyrm?
>>67864560
Marvel is finished.
>>67865442
Yeah, that's the one.
Dumb old man actually thought he was good enough to get cast as Gandalf.
>>67865506
In LOTR, "wyrm" is a disparaging slang term for a dragon.
A wyvern is a smaller beast that has a venomous stinger on its tail, and can either resemble a diminutive dragon or a snake with wings, but the defining feature is always the stinger on the tail.
Some spastic types will demand that you refer to a dragon as a "wyvern" if it doesn't have a set of arms separate from its wings, for reasons that I am not autistic enough to comprehend. Smaug does not have a poisonous stinger so that means he is a dragon and cannot be a wyvern.
>>67865045
that honestly looks like it would be fun as hell
>>67864366
I don't get this meme. do people really not understand that they're obviously going to edit it to where he'll be flying or going through a portal or something? How else would they have done it? Of course actors are going to look silly out of context, they're fucking playing pretend professionally
>>67864614
Yes, Cumberbatch is actually playing Rita Repulsa because IT'S 2016.
>>67866239
everybody knows this
>>67865320
You mean to be a Fagbook Normalchad somewhere else, right?

No.
>>67865163
They actually changed Smaug's design based on his performance. He originally was going to have four legs and two wings (the original render was used in theatrical release of the first Hobbit film and had to be changed to the two legged / two winged version for the home release).
They also used the mocap data as the starting point for the animation in the second Hobbit film. Though obviously in his case they had to tweak it quite a bit more than they would have for a more "humanoid" character.
>>67865538
Yeah, you have to go back.

This usually has to do with D&D although heraldric wyverns also don't have front arms. It doesn't really matter though because all of the terms are basically interchangeable in English (dragon, wyrm, drake, and wyvern) and only absolute autists get nit-picky about it when the creator of a particular world determines what they mean, plus the usage of words in-lore doesn't have to follow 1:1 to conventional usages anyway.
Gene Wolfe uses tons of archaic language and mythological references in his works but they don't normally have any correlation (other than thematically) with where the words are being borrowed from.

>>67867393
It's specifically English heraldry too. In other medieval European countries, "dragon" and its variants sometimes meant what the English called a wyvern. Sweden, for example, if I remember correctly.
>yfw Shuma-Gorath shows up in one of these movies
It'll be the closest we'll probably ever get to life action Lovecraft.

At least admit defeat gracefully

It will probably surpass Ant-Man because of Cucumberbatch.
