I started watching Rebels and while it's more of stupid kid's show, it's a lot better than Clone Wars in my opinion. 90% of Clone Wars episodes were boring or just plain fucking dumb. Not to mention towards the end of the series the Jedi basically knew shit was about to happen and exactly what would, the entire series ends up making them look like retards that deserved to be slaughtered.
Most Rebels episodes are alright, I only recall two that were intolerable (Lira San and space whale episodes). I don't think it's too cringey for a kid's show (I think I cringed more during Clone Wars), but it's a little distracting Ezra can only stun (he never uses a blaster) and you can clearly see how they try to move around any sort of violent death or injury (even when fighting mindless spider aliens). They won't even show Kanan and Hera kiss, they just embrace.
The lack of having so many characters and short stories (contrast to Clone Wars) gives them more ability to focus on an overall arc for the series.

Doing so would easily answer your questions. They were taken by the Empire either from the Jedi Temple during Order 66 or from their families before the Jedi could kidnap them to train as Jedi. They are taught by Vader how to use the dark side in a way to hunt down the Jedi that lived through Order 66, but are not given the teachings to become Sith. They don't break the Rule of Two because of that.

It's just bad story telling to have them be given almost all the information about what's going to happen only for them sense a plot to destroy the Jedi by Revenge of the Sith.
