Breaking Bad paces itself well and is constantly entertaining. You know with every episode that things are going to unravel for Walt just a bit more.
The Sopranos has better moments than BB, but it can get boring at times. Sopranos seasons start with a slow burn and feel directionless at times. All the seasons have great endings though.
Overall, I would say BB has a better story, but The Sopranos has better writing.

On a side note, and this is in no way an attempt to start an argument, the majority of the breaking bad fanatic audience have never finished any other show, apart from maybe game of thrones. And I feel breaking bads cinematography is easier to 'get' for them. Like they get it a fundamental level, but only because that's all they can be bothered to see. If you do careful rewatches, breaking bad is much more than that.
I realised this after I tried to turn a group of friends onto the sopranos after they finished breaking bad together. Within less than 2 seasons, all of them unified under the opinion of lazy cinematography and boring writing.
I was triggered heavily that day, but made sure they didn't see it.
