> BvS woke up from a hangover to learn that it’s on its way to a -70% weekend drop of $50.7M. That fall-off is one of the steepest for a superhero film, topping the -69% posted by 20th Century Fox’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. All this despite the fact that Bruce and Clark have the Friday-Sunday period all to themselves, without any new wide threats from the other majors,

>Not to mention the added benefit of 30% K-12 schools off, and 9% of colleges on break, per ComScore. The second Friday till for BvS of $15.3M, down 81%, looks like a collapse compared to last Friday’s $81.55M which included $27.7M in previews. Even if you strip the previews out ($53.85M), BvS’ Friday-to-Friday decline is still big at -72%

Whats your excuses now DCucks, has it been Easter all week?

I don't work for WB so i really couldn't give a shit.

I'm just glad we finally got a great capeshit movie.

This disaster of on opening will have no survivors

In all seriousness, hopefully this means Zack Synder gets fired. I'm a DCfag and I want there to be a lot of DC live action films like there are a lot of Marvel films. I don't want DC to be family friendly comedies like Marvel has become, I like the more serious tone. But Synder is not the guy to do it. He's a good visual director but he needs to go back to film school to learn about how a plot works. He's had 2 chances now and he failed both tries. He needs to go.

WB is on the verge of firing Snyder and the idiots who gave him $250 million.
>>
If they wanted a good Superman film they should of modeled the character similar to Captain America in the First Avenger. They both have similar personalities, are very outdated for the time but Marvel is able to pull it off because they established Captain is from the 1940s and is boyscout schikt is refreshing today because the world is full of cynicism and Cap. provides an escape to that. You can do something similar to Superman, hes an alien farmboy where having similar convictions to Cap wouldn't seem out of touch. But WB wants to make Superman dark and grim when most of his history he's been the opposite
>>
>>67784628
The movie still made money. Even if he does suck why would they fire him if he turns a profit?
>>
>a movie with fucking BATMAN and fucking SUPERMAN
>and they're FIGHTING each other
>will make less than $1 billion
This has to be one of the biggest flops of all-time
>>
>>67784908
It needs a billion to break even. A movie like this should make 200 million in profit, theres a good chance it won't make a profit. His vision cost a studio profits. They could of made a movie with Deadpool's budget and get the same if not better results

Cap is based as fuck. It's boring for Superman because 'doing the right thing' comes at no cost to him. He's basically invincible so it becomes easy to do it good.

Its also interesting to watch a guy out of time try to find a place in the new world.

2. Captain America-contained to the battlefield, American hero who was more of a soldier

3. Iron Man 2- Iron Man still only hero known to public, still small scale

4. Thor-god who lives in another dimension, contained to small town and unknown to rest of world

5. Hulk-army experiment, small scale and rest of world is unaware

6. Avengers- Alien invasion, Avengers come in and save the world and stop destruction

7. Iron man 3- Tony drinks alot, still small scale conflict with some douche loser

8.Winter Soldier- Cap's friend comes back to kill him, conflict contained to SHIELD

9. Thor 2-takes place in space, everyone unaware

10. Guardians of the Galaxy-takes place in space, no one knows about it

11. Avengers 2- Tony and Jarvis have a child who is a homicidal maniac who wants to kill humanity, the hulk is a racist and starts going crazy in Africa. First movie where actions of superheros put's the world in jeopardy.

12. Antman-comfy movie with no real repercussions

13. Civil War- Tony realizes maybe superheros should be regulated and Captain America dosen't think its a good idea for Tony and TSA of heros to regulate superheros

Funny thing how DC never changes, they're always catching up to Marvel.

When all comic books had the depth of a cardboard box and comics sales were on all-time low, Marvel came up with Fantastic Four and the advent of human character flaws. DC tried to follow suit, but they still didn't sell as good as Marvel. What followed was them copying Marvel in every way they could.

Stan Lee says at one point, they thought Marvel's success was because they had dialogue in the cover, so they started doing that as well. Of course it didn't work, so Marvel stopped putting dialogue in their covers and their comics sold just as well.

Now they'll make their movies more "fun" just like Marvel's to try and salvage this crap they got themselves into.

Top fucking kek.

Just got back from this movie. I expected a train wreck and was still disappointed. I didn't absolutely hate the movie; maybe a Phantom Edit will polish it up a bit. But I was still disappointed. That's the only word for it.

Multiple children in the audience cried. Yeah, that's the fault of idiot parents taking little Timmy to a PG-13 movie, but I don't see how they could have expected something this terrible. A little girl behind me whispered, "Daddy, did Superman really just die...?"

Dumb manchildren needing external validation that the children's characters they didn't grow out of are "mature" and "dark" have ultimately ruined those characters for the next generation of children.

Same with Deadpool. The studio was forced into trying something 'new' with a lesser known character on a lower budget, and it worked.

Tony didn't realize that superheroes should be regulated. He realized that it was stark industries all over again. Tony built missiles like the Jericho to be so deadly, effective and terrifying that they'd only need to be used once. He wanted to stop conflicts, not start them.

And then he found out that his own weapons had been perverted into something he had never been intended, harming innocents. So he built the suit and eventually helped build the avengers- to protect the world. But now he's seeing it all happen again. Ultron was an attempt to make the world safe: it backfired and corrupted. So now he's seeing that the avengers are corrupting and backfiring as well just like Stark Industries. Weapons he built to protect the world are destroying it and he can't stop it.

Poor Tony...

it's totally fair and I am glad it happened. And I say that as a fan of DC. Because I want good DC movies. And they won't be happening without this crashing and burning.
It's not a good movie. Is it absolute horseshit? No. But it is a trainwreck that could have been made into 3-4 different good movies if it had been handled by competent people instead of the mess we got.
Stop apologizing for the movie or calling it unfair because "muh DC" or "muh Snyder" or "fuck Marvel". It is a bad movie and if you can't see that you are deluding yourself because of a misguided sense of loyalty.

Titling the movie BATMAN V SUPERMAN, only to make it completely unsuited, tedious, confusing and scary for kids is some sort of a cruel joke from WB imo.

What kind of kid isn't going to see that title and beg their parents to take them to it despite the rating? And what kind of parent who grew up loving these heroes wouldn't want to take their kids to experience those two iconic characters together on the big screen?

I don't want all cape movies to be kiddie friendly, but I think it's sad these characters are being made to appeal to adults only.

the 250 was the production budget for shooting the movie. WB spent like another 250 million to advertise for it, and the studio only gets half of what it makes at the box office
>>
>>67787438
if you really think these are the only issues with the movie I think we have a very different taste.

Mind you, there were good things in it. Lots even. But most of them individual things. The grand picture was a mess. The movie was overloaded with too much stuff that simply wasn't needed or should have been in a separate movie. It felt like a gigantic mess of promising puzzle pieces that someone had just thrown into a pile and called it a day.

They only get about 50% of the box office, the rest goes to theatres. And a movie as big as BvS will have a huge marketing budget, so they need to cover that as well.

On top of that, BvS isn't a very kid friendly movie so their toy sales are gonna be shit. Marvel makes more money from their toy sales then the movies, not even kidding.

Sony had spiderman movie rights, but marvel still had the toy rights and they made more off the toys than Sony did on the movies.

I mean shit, they vet actors and stuff to make sure they have "star power" in their films.
Why wouldn't anyone have taken a critical look at Snyder's previous films and then realised what was going to happen?

I don't know who the production company is, but I think they're the first link in the chain of incompetence.

Snyder's only mainstream successful movies have been 1:1 adaptations of comic books with very little rewriting of the characters or plot. His only real success as a director is good visuals but even then the best shots in his movies are copies of comic book panels.

It's so fucking obvious that he's a low-tier director, I can only think the producers excuse is that they needed someone immediately to start churning out movies and Snyder was the only guy available.

Yeah no. AOU making more than a billion riding on Avenger/Iron Man hype is not a sign of anything 'dying'. Both AOU and BVS just weren't that good movies deserving any praise. People blew their load for WS.
