Not trying to say you're wrong because it's an opinion, but I feel like Theon's case is really important in this world in terms of redemption. Like, Jaime Lannister has arguably done worse things, but people seem to rally behind him no problem. There are so many more, literally every character does atrocious things frequently and we write it off with "that's the world the story is set in". But Theon was kind of a douche so the readerbase calls him scum. I think he showed genuine remorse and would have been willing to repent had he not been broken by Ramsay. I feel genuine sympathy for the character, and it sucks Stannis is going to behead him.
