Same. Borderline Michael Connelly obsessive, though I think he more wanted a Micky Haller show.
Season 2 is great, finished it within 24 hours of release.
Most of the background police officers are actually LA police officers.
At least in season 1, the scenes in the precint are on location, the first time they've ever allowed a show to film in there.

the first season was good, even though a bit too slow at times, the second did it better
