>Batman v Superman has set a new record for the worst Friday-to-Sunday drop for a superhero movie release in modern North American box office history. In dropping 55% from its $82 million Friday debut to its $37 million gross on Sunday, it pummeled all prior records for weakness in theatrical staying power. It even beat the nearly universally reviled and now long-forgotten Fantastic Four reboot, which dropped a comparatively modest 48% across its opening weekend in the summer of 2015.

And then it posted the best March Monday ever. Maybe having a poor Sunday had something to do with it being Easter Sunday. Try harder dummy.

You're suggesting a guaranteed day off for everyone isn't great for the box office? There's a reason Christmas is so big for movies.

Box Office Mojo puts that 'Best March Monday' at #30 of all single day monday grosses of all time.
If it doesnt perform next weekend its game over.

It's Batman V Superman. Its the trump card. If this doesn't work plenty of people are getting fired.

They probably recouped their production costs through product placement alone.
>>67696717
You need to gross double what you spent in general.

sure if you count only the box office but anon, pls
they sold merchandise and they will sell it digitally and bluray as well as selling it later to networks for airing. face the reality, they made their money back and then some
Every showing of TFA was sold out for at least 2 weeks lmao

>best March Monday ever

It had a worse monday than TDKR or Avengers.
>>67696923

wonder woman barbies
IMO, the biggest thing is that word-of-mouth is genuinely hurting it.
It had a big Monday, by March's standards at least. But its Tuesday dropped, and its Wednesday dropped even further.
If its Thursday box office goes below 7mil, it's finished.
I for one will be happy to see this film flop.

530 million sales doesn't mean 530 million profit, they have to recoup production cost plus marketing (which probably costs more than production)
