Its really weird that people were acting like the success of Watchmen or Deadpool was truly shocking.
Execs and talking heads seem to believe that R-rated comic films struggle to find an audience despite the fact that Blade 1 and 2 predate the current company wars and are still some of the finest capeshit ever made.
I can't even decide which of the two I enjoy more which also means these films managed to solve the problem of the underwhelming sequel, something still plaguing both DC and Marvel to this day.
