The writing has been terrible this season, I think this show has too many yes men involved and it's creatively dead
i stopped caring after season 3. at that point it had basically become a soap opera with zombies.

TWD is legitimately one of my favorite shows on TV and I'm really excited for the finale.
I lost interest after they got into the second gated community. Then it become about your people vs our people. At that point there was no more zombies left.
Despite all of the ups and downs the show has over the years I still enjoy watching it.
I know it's made for the lowest common denominator and the writing is completely fucked at times, but I still have fun watching it and I'm looking forward to the finale next week. Negan could really revitalize the show and be what it needs.

Filler and pacing destroy the show. Recent examples are the mid-season finale when Ron/Sam starts calling for his mom while in the middle of zombies and then in the premiere nothing. Then they want that scene to take place at night so Rick and them wander the streets for hours until it gets dark. Now they want Negan to be the finale, so we get pointless filler where dozens of Saviors get slaughtered and we're supposed to believe they are still a credible threat.
Then you get the Vatos, CDC, Search for Sophia, Governor Part 2 who convinces a group of people he just met to attack people they don't know for absolutely no reason, the hospital, and so many more things that I can't remember.

Pretty much all of the characters have been on Talking Dead multiple times, but they seem to try very hard to have people who die come on to the show that episode. Well that's the thing, it's usually just a "mystery cast member." So you don't know who it is until after the episode and the Talking Dead actually airs. I actually don't know of a time they've announced an actor ahead of time and they died in that episode, usually when they announce the specific actor ahead of time it's because they're featured heavily in that episode. Like a couple weeks back, the episode with Carol and Maggie being captured, they announced ahead of time that Melissa McBride would be on along with a mystery cast member. The mystery guest ended up being the redhead chick she killed in that episode. So, historically, Norman Reedus being announced for the finale ahead of time would make me think he's not going to die. They've been doing some fakeouts recently though, and they've had a few mystery guests that didn't end up dying. So now I'm wondering if the normally announced guest might die, just to throw people off.

I watched season 1, and that was good enough, but season 2 was a bore fest, and i dropped it half way through. I came back a few years later and skipped to season 3, and that was OK with the whole Governor stuff, but Season 4 got shit REALLY quickly, so i dropped it again.

I like Glenn as the incorruptible good guy, though. The fact that he never killed another human in the entire show until a couple episodes ago was really impressive, and even when he had to, he spared Heath having to go through it because he's just that good. They do such a great job with him, because you would expect him to be like Morgan; being the useless moral compass character. But he still ends up being one of the single most important and useful members of the group.
I'll be really upset if he dies in the finale.
