Why did they turn Geoffrey into an asshole in the third season?
He was reduced from a real person who was proud of his job to a snarky resentful butler trope.

In all sitcoms the main characters become caricatures of their original selves over time, with it becoming more exaggerated as the show goes on. There is not one single long-running sitcom where this does not occur.
