This scene is THE most important scene in the whole movie. ACTUALLY the knightmare sequence is ....when you realize that it wasn't a dream at all but aflashforward to the future. In the glimpse of the future bats is looking for kryptonite to stop rogue supes....but it all goes wrong and he ends up captured. Supes says "she was my world" and then goes man of murder on batman. The flash.....then realizes he's possibly the only one left, that he needs to change the past and decides to go back in time to warn Bruce. The next scene after Bruce dies is the flash arriving from that future to warn Bruce. Message delivered and Bruce then probably recalls some of the information. He then steals the kryptonite from Lexcorp and wages a war against supes because the flash warned him he was right about him....fueling his paranoia about an alien with the power to level a city...and so on and so on :)
This is such a great film, its a lot more structured than people seem to think!
