Are these movies any good?
I only remember watching the first and tokyo drift but that was a long time ago
They're stupid movies for ricers and South Americans. But they're kinda fun if you like vehicle porn. Basically they're like toned down Transformers movies without Micheal Bay autism

The earlier ones were pretty decent. The latest one was more of a bollywood action movie than most bollywood action movie. The ending was the only good thing about the latest one.
The first was a point break rip off.
Second one wasn't that good, mindless action movie.
Third was actually pretty solid.
Fourth sucked.
Now at the 5th movie these movies changed a lot. The Rock joined the cast, and the movies stopped being about races and started being about...i dont even know. Mission Impossible style missions and crazy ass action scenes with absolutely 0 logic and car physics that make the main charters seem like super heroes. 5-7 are amazing things, just pure unpretentious illogical excitement. I'd recommend those ones.

The first 3 ones were more about racing, think Point Break or that need for speed movie with Aaron Paul. 4 is shit. 5-7 are completely over the top dumb action flicks that doesn't take themselves even remotely serious. They went full retard for their own benefit, it depends if you like that sort of things.

There is continuity and plot lines that follow through, characters dying and coming back and antagonist wanting revenge from prior films events, but if you want you COULD watch it out of order. You could easily piece together the plot of one of these movies just from context clues.

Not really, it's just a bunch of recurring characters and the movie has contrived excuses for why some characters are there, or not. It doesn't matter. There's not a continual story, so it doesn't matter.

the only one i vaguely liked was the first and the one set in ching chong land

I used to despise these movies for a while till I just said fuck it and gave them a shot. they are pretty fun and stupid so go for it the action scenes in some of the movies are great to watch.
