Why are there so few good espionage films nowadays?
because we dont live in the cold war anymore
the americans is a good show though
Not enough demand unfortunately

I'm demanding that there be good espionage films nowadays.
Your move, pinko.

This argument is made every time and it's bullshit. HUMINT and SIGINT are more active than ever and plenty of stories could be written about the crazy shit the US alone has gotten itself into to get information about muzzie terrorists.
>>67452941
because its currently going on
SHHHHHHH
>>67452817
No more russian boogeyman, and we don't want or need to stirr even more shit up with the middle-east, or with China.
Also, not enough explosions.
>>67453013
>what is Argo, American Sniper, London Has Fallen, etc.
We're clearly okay with making politically incendiary movies about the Middle East. Why not make smarter ones?
i miss burn notice
>>67453224
>burn notice
Went on for too long
>>67453175
Because if we make smart movies about it, we start to make them credible, adress actual issues, etc.
Nobody takes popcorn action flick seriously, so no one is going to feel offended over them. Something that actually would have to put names on the table, and throw accusations, even fictional, could cause some anecdotal problems at least. And we need oil.
>>67453325
>MUH GLOBALISTS MUH WAR FOR OIL
you know nothing about the geopolitical situation in the middle east besides what you read on facebook
>>67453224
is that the "i'm gettin' a boner" guy from Sicario?
>>67453509
what did he mean by this?
>no espionnage movie will be made about the fishy chinese presence and investment uncovering a larger plan that steps outside of just making money
sad
>>67453255
Did you watch it all?
