It's sexy and to the point. It shits on most action movies. You don't have to be invested in the brand to be enthralled. There's no drama between fucking nobodies. I don't give a fuck about Bruce Wayne being a crybaby in Not-Chicago or Captain Americuck being a cry baby in Jew York. Torpedo me into an impossibly huge concrete jungle in a super cops shoes who never cracks to the point where its hilarious while he fucks with crazed niggers, robots, jay walkers, etc. I don't know what to say besides Dredd and its premise is inherently more fun than everything else.

Ichi the Killer is an awesome premise but I don't really think it's pulled off that well. The story is absolutely nuts but the presentation is kind of dull and drab. Maybe in some weird way that was intentional but I couldn't get into it, it looked like the whole thing was set in a hospital.
And Oldboy and Watchmen are just slickly executed pulp and are only revered because of their accessibility and incredibly shallow 'depth.'

The presentation felt very Yakuza-ish, but the visuals seemed a bit too generic for my liking. All grey and fluorescent lighting. I suppose that's how Japanese city's look but from the poster I was expecting pinks and yellows all over the place, rather than confined to the outfit of one character.
