In comes Duncan Jones, HUGE Warcraft nerd. Has played Warcraft since Warcraft 1. Has done Moon and Source Code, 2 good movies. Wanted this project badly and jumped on the opportunity after Raimi's departure. He came in, told them exactly how he thinks it should be done. The story should be told from both perspectives, good and bad apples on both sides, staying true to the real story. Blizzard were like: 'Whoa dude, let's do this!'. It's a passion project for him and that's why I think it was handled with care and will actually be good.
A first installment is not going to break any records but it sure as hell won't bomb, and it'll spawn a franchise. A lot of people are going to be very surprised when this movie comes out, watch.

This flick looks like a fucking mess, the cgi and the real life actor juxtaposition looks jarring as hell, just from the trailers you can tell it will have that green screen effect akin to the prequels making everything look artificial. It will be shot reverse shot in conversations and it will look painfully fake.
Not to mention that this flick isn't even the main story from WC1 it's the retconned fever dream of a cocaine addicted Metzen and it just smells like Green Jesus bullshit all over from the trailers.
