By the end of the movie he was not only an emotional wreck (from murdering his father in a bid to strengthen himself that ended up failing miserably and his general bipolar nature) and severely injured from when Chew shot him with a weapon that sends groups of Stormtroopers flying. Fucking bullshit and you know it. She drove a speeder around which is the Star Wars equivalent of a minivan. At no point are we told that she was a pilot. Hell even if she was, the stuff she pulls off is insane. Luke was supposed to be a good pilot and he was pretty far from untouchable as one.
Having one of those qualities is fine in a movie where each member of the main cast is supposed to bring something to the table, being the best at everything makes all the other characters redundant. As for being unable to beat her in this scene, Kylo wasn't expecting her to be force sensitive and had likely never interrogated a force-sensitive before. Kylo is a scrub, this is abundantly clear. He is also shocked and fearful that Rey was able to see his true nature, something he goes to great effort to try and hide. He is made unstable by this and literally has to leave the room.
In general Kylo has this rigid preconceived notion of what the force is and how it works that is simply inferior to what an open and clear mind can learn naturally from the force.

I just watched the movie because it recently became available for download.
Now I know why Lucas used CG troopers. Because practical effects troopers look clunky and corny as fuck, the helmet looks oversized and ridiculous. Nothing will match how cool these guys looked in episode 3.
