I don't even see them anymore. All I see is static noise until my program starts again.

>talk to your doctor about our pill
>side effects include internal hemorrhaging, complete immune system collapse, and entire organ system failures

What do they have in other countries?

Honest question here, never watched foreign television adverts.
>>
We know you're not even remotely trained as a medical professional, but hopefully you can pester your practitioner into prescribing our fucking poison.

America is so fucked up, a Ferengi would walk away shaking its head.
>>
>>67299481

They don't market prescription drugs to people fundamentally incapable of knowing their proper application.
>>
>>67299481
Probably ads for other businesses or events. The only other country that has drug commercials is New Zealand

You seriously mean you don't have commercials for medical shit on your television?

What about insurance? Car/medical/funeral?
>>
>>67300271
>medical

keep in mind that most countries offer some sort of universal coverage
>>
>>67300328

>I never thought of that. I know this is a /tv/ thread, but I'm kind of blown away by that.

What kind of commercials do you have then?

>Why are these ads illegal in Canada?

>Prescription drug advertising is prohibited in Canada and most other countries for a couple of reasons. Medicines are different from consumer products because of the harm they can cause if they are used when they are not needed or not used the right way. As well, a seriously ill person has much more to lose from an advertiser’s false promises than someone buying a new car or other product.
>>

Can confirm that here in Mexico we are just as bad and have even worse drug ads.
>>
>>67299563
Wrong. We have some advertisment for light drugs on France. Stuff like syrup for sore throats and other non-prescription drugs.
>>
>>67300386
France reporting again
>cars, shittons of ads for cars
>food and drinks
>insurances (most of the time very broadly described and sending non-messages like "we trust our clients, our clients trust us" giving no nomber or substancial information whatsoever or very hammering specific figures that separate them from their competitors)
>banks (same methods as above)
>perfumes and body care products
>phones, tons of phones
>and apps too now
>big chain stores, either general supermarkets bragging about their low prices or specialized stuff (like Ikea)
>light or non-prescription medication (toothpaste, vitamin supplements, etc)

stuff that doesn't happen
>ads for clinics and private hospitals, since most of our hospitals are public and the few that aren't are either following the same regulations or are not registered as medical facilities (mostly the case for cosmetic clinics)
>movie trailers, they used to be arround but for some reasons they have kind of disappeared
>music, though there used to be a lot of ads before the launch of a big pop album,it's a less common nowadays unless you tune in some specialized channels

stuff that's illegal
>books, newspaper and magazines. Some type of publications can have tv ads but they have pretty much died as the internet grew so we don't see them anymore. selling books and printed journals is madly overwatched for some reasons
>tobacco
>alcohol, though it's allowed to advertise on printed media,I'm not sure it can do it on tv
>ads that "are only relevant to less than 10% of the population" mostly meaning that local ads are not allowed on national tv, but also that stores that are not large-scale chains cannot advertise either
>>
>>67300271
the only medical commercials we have in ausland is shit for cold and flu, sore throats or headache pills. Everything else is prohibited for advertisement basically because of this >>67300491
>>
>>67299199
Yeah, all jokes aside advertising is just like that to me now too. If I'm not already just doing something else anyways.

>>
>>67299481

It's illegal in Canada as it should be.

Doctors should be the ones deciding what you should be on.
>>
If it wasn't for Viagra ads, I wouldn't know that having a boner for more than 4 hours was a serious medical condition
>>
>>67299091
American commercials scare the shit out of me whenever I watch Hulu. There's something really wrong about them, especially the medication ones.
>>
>you now remember than American TV is responsible for puppymonkeybaby

disgusting. almost flew home when i saw it

also i don't know if it's us-wide but in new york there was this animated backbrace ad with the skating grandma. now that's a classic.
>>
fuck off, I love my drugs.
