Anyone that Jesse got close to always died because of Walt. Gus stole Jesse from Walt and Walt killed him out of jealousy. Breaking Bad is slang for Jesse to leave his gay lover Walt because was is a bad person.

Watch the series again. The show has a lot of gay undertones between Walt and Jesse. Walt is the abusive lover and Jesse is his broken down boy toy by the end of the show. Why else would Walt save Jesse? He was in love with him.
