You don't seem to know much about it. It's been 100% proven that there was no avalanche.

Besides, they weren't buried under snow, they ran away from their camp with barely any clothes on and didn't look back, fully knowing that they wouldn't survive. They were that terrified.

>>67251628
Honestly I believe the only non-fantasy explanation is murder. Possibly by spies of some sort who were afraid of being identified? Because the only reason I can imagine why someone would walk out of his tent with no clothes on is if he was threatened with a gun.

This is further supported by the fact that they apparently didn't run, only walked down the hill.

Very unlikely. They were very experienced.

They were fully aware that they couldn't survive and yet they just kept going without looking back. Fear doesn't explain that.

>>67251815
Because they literally went far away from their tents without any clothes to where they couldn't possibly survive, and they knew that. That is all.

>>67251848

In 1970, a group of hikers came across the corpse of a woman in the middle of Isdalen Valley in Norway. Around her were bottles of liquor, sleeping pills and nearly incinerated passports. Additionally, her fingerprints were sanded off. She was later linked to some suitcases found at a train station, but the labels in her clothes had all been removed. They also found a diary with coded entries. Later investigation revealed that she had traveled throughout Europe under false names, spoke multiple languages and switched hotels frequently. Her identity has never been discovered, but the most common theory is that the Isdal Woman, as she's come to be known for, was a spy of some sort.
>>
>>67251929
Except theres a specific avalanche that doesnt leave mountains of snow but is in fact a low-moving freight train of snow. The investigators missed this because they didnt know this.

It's also funny how one of the biggest aspects behind "IT WASN'T AN AVALANCHE" defenses is the fact that they were all experienced tourists. Here's a thing - every student in USSR could be considered a tourist, that was like number one thing to do around that time, but it doesn't mean shit, just because you went on a couple hikes doesn't make you an expert in anything. Guy in charge of them was pretty experienced and that's about it and who knows if he was prepared for those events.

They weren't a mountian climbers, they were freaking students that went there on their winter break, of course they got scared.

>>
>>67252226

Hypothermia can make people go crazy near death, such as ripping off clothes and running around. It's happened to Everest climbers.

Animals eat tongues, it's a soft and easy organ to reach on a corpse.
>>
>>67252226
Yes.
>>
>>67252226
>makes you rip your tent open
The leading theory is they believed they heard an avalanche, or a small one blocked the tent entry, then ran out half dressed. Panic makes people behave poorly, especially in groups. Impossible to confirm but believable
>punch rocks
Falling down, confused, digging for the tent they though got buried. Lots of possibilities

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinterkaifeck_murders

A few days prior to the crime, farmer Andreas Gruber told neighbors about discovering footprints in the snow leading from the edge of the forest to the farm, but none leading back. He also spoke about hearing footsteps in the attic and finding an unfamiliar newspaper on the farm. Furthermore, the house keys went missing several days before the murders. None of this was reported to the police prior to the attack.

Six months earlier, the previous maid had left the farm, claiming that it was haunted; the new maid, Maria Baumgartner, arrived on the farm on the day of the attack and was killed hours later.

Exactly what happened on that Friday evening cannot be said for certain. It is believed that the older couple, as well as their daughter Viktoria, and her daughter, Cäzilia, were all lured into the barn one by one, where they were killed. The perpetrator(s) then went into the house where they killed two‑year‑old Josef, who was sleeping in his cot in his mother's bedroom, as well as the maid, Maria Baumgartner, in her bedchamber.

On the following Tuesday, April 4, neighbors came to the farmstead because none of its inhabitants had been seen for several days. The postman had noticed that the post from the previous Saturday was still where he had left it. Furthermore, young Cäzilia had not turned up for school on Monday, nor had she been there on Saturday.

Another group of hikers said they saw orange lights in the sky during that night, it could be that the military were testing their new airdropped mines and didn't know there were hikers in the area. That type of mine they would be testing would have given them the same kind of internal injuries and would explain why they panicked and ran outside. The missing body parts are probably from animals that found their corpses. There's alot of doubts that it would have been an avalanche since there were no real signs of it having been one apparantly and they were too experienced to have camped in an area where they were at risk.

Most of the bullshit facts regarding this incident can be traced back to Cracked.com

As you'd expect from Cracked, they jumped to conclusions based on only a partial understanding of the facts. Go read Wikipedia's page on the topic and you'll note that they misstated the basic facts on which they based most of their assumptions. For a quick example, Cracked mentions a tongue missing from one of the victims and provides an explanation for it, but neglected to note that it was actually the entire face missing, and that the cause for why it was missing was well-established: they found the woman face-down in a ravine on the edge of a stream that would have caused her face to essentially decompose and liquefy off her skull. The wounds and loss of other soft tissue were consistent with that idea, rather than predation or scavenging, as Cracked suggests.

And the orange glowing spheres that Cracked claims were just people adding a spooky factor for the sake of doing so? Those spheres were actually reported by a wide-ranging group of people spread out over the region, and the reports came in repeatedly over the course of a couple of months. They were later confirmed to have been ICBM tests being conducted by the Soviets. Whether or not they are relevant remains to be seen, but dismissing them as ghost stories just shows that they didn't bother doing their homework in the least.

It was infrasound produced by air vortices. Not terribly mysterious but its honestly one of the most horrifying explanations offered. Basically infrasound causing the hairs on your inner ears to vibrate, making your brain expect to hear sound when it can't because infrasound is below the threshold of human hearing. This in turn causes the brain to panic.

Imagine it. You're on a mountain in the middle of the night. Conditions aren't great, visibility is bad, and you've strayed from your original planned trail. You hear the sound of wind whistling through the mountains and snow beating against the tent. Suddenly, for no discernible reason, you and all of your friends all become very frightened. At first you probably tell yourselves its nothing, but as the night goes on you only get more and more scared. You begin to become convinced that there's something more going on here. You begin to think that something out in the dark cold is trying to get you. You wait for something to happen. Nothing happens, but you just can't shake the fear. The waiting becomes agonizing. You just know that something horrible is going on, but you don't know what. The fear mounts and mounts until you are literally driven insane. You flee from your tent into the cold night air but no matter how fast you run you can't escape that irrational terror. Finally, you freeze to death, still terrified of something you never saw or understood.

Could make for a pretty great psychological thriller if you ask me.

Four teenagers go camping in 1960, someone stabs them and one survives. The investigation goes to shit and after that nothing points to anything, dozens of people say that they did it, one of them kills himself and after 44 years the sole survivor is questioned and jailed.

After about 1,5 years he's freed of everything, paid about 45 thousand and no one will apparently ever solve the case.

Apparently the book originally featured a final chapter in which it is implied that the girls fell through a hole in spacetime. The editor recommended that Lindsay remove this chapter, as the story read better if the mystery was left unsolved.

Even things we perceive as supernatural have a rational explanation. Its just that we don't yet have the scientific knowledge to understand those explanations. Everything that happens has a logical explanation or else it wouldn't have happened in the first place.
>>

Everything literally does, but that doesn't mean there can't be any mystery around anything. The Zodiac murders are still unsolved, but it guaranteed wasn't ayyylmaos or anything.

All the evidence explains it. There's no reason to believe there was anything supernatural about it other than just to be a contrarian.

One of the most well-known symptoms of hypothermia is that your body starts to feel like it's heating up, to the point that victims would swear that their skin was on fire. Finding hikers nude or near nude is pretty common, since they're actually trying to cool off.

Ancient posts, but to add, it seems likely that there was in fact some kind of military weapon testing going on in the area. It could explain the cause of the avalanche, the radiation in the victim's clothing, and the overall caginess the government expressed over the course of their investigation.

It certainly would be snake oil in terms of the benefits it was supposed to offer alcoholics. The guy drafted the first ever drug regulations in the United States.

Lisa McPherson's death would make good kino

> "In 1995, a woman named Lisa McPherson "went clear," reaching Scientology's top realm after years of auditing. Two months later, after being injured in a car accident, she was taken to Scientology's Fort Harrison Hotel in Clearwater, Florida, and died 17 days later. Two felonies were dropped after a medical examiner found the death to be accidental, but the civil case (which contended that "church staff members let McPherson become severely dehydrated") was settled out of court in 2004."

that would make a hell of a driving force for a plot. You could even make it a comedy, follow the USA and USSR as they have a battle of showmanship and lying for 30 years, that's basically what the arms race was even when you accept nukes as real.

Didn't "Little Bastard", the car James Dean crashed and burned in, make its way to a few different people over the years (in different parts because it was obviously disassembled) and they all mysteriously died within a short time frame of having the parts of the car?
