The underwater scene is alright too.
One would expect that a story in wich robots create their own robots would deal with how the robots don't understand emotions and thus end up making lifeless husks guided purely by logic and opress humanity; but interestingly enough this movie goes the other way: not only can the robots replicate emotions and empathy, but genuinely perfect it, resulting in a new generation of robots that is actually more humane and moral than us.
This leads to the typical extermination plot point, but this time with different implications because not only is it happening to the robots but the robots are unambiguously people and it's a matter of humans not wanting to accept so they truly and knowingly commit genocide
But these robots are still so altruist that one of them goes to great lenghts endangering herself to save humanity just because it's the right thing to do, despite everything.
It's fascinating. Why isn't the whole movie about this? It's just quickly revealed in a passing exposition scene, one may even forget it all by the next scene.
AR is a lot of fun, A3 is a fucking chore to sit through and the Babylon 5 tier fx are vomit inducing
