He's as good as it gets when it comes to playing badass hero roles where he doesn't speak alot. He's intimidating and believable as someone like Wick or Neo and it's partially due to the fact that he's quite formidable when it comes to stunts and choreography.

There Will Be Blood featured Dano's best performance, and probably Day-Lewis' but I haven't seen a lot of the other stuff he's praised for so I can't say
Inherent Vice got the career-defining performance from Joaquin Phoenix imo and I definitely think it's potentially Josh Brolin's most enjoyable (if not best)
