Screenwriter David Koepp will take on scripting duties for the fifth Indiana Jones film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Koepp, a veteran of several Steven Spielberg projects, wrote films like The Lost World: Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds. He also wrote thrillers like Panic Room and directed the Kevin Bacon flick Stir of Echoes and, more recently, Premium Rush and runaway cult hit Mortdecai.
But what may give some Indy fans pause is his participation in writing Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Based on an earlier story from George Lucas and Jeff Nathanson, later revised by Frank Darabont and other writers, Koepp received the final screenwriting credit. But it is unclear how much of the material viewers later found troubling could be attributed to Koepp’s work on the project.
No plot details are yet available, but the film will reunite Harrison Ford and director Spielberg for what will presumably be one last go at the adventuring archaeologist. It is scheduled for a July 19th, 2019 release.

Mortdecai is god tier if you've seen the classic Pink Panther films and watch the movie ironically.
No seriously it's great if you pretend the whole film is tongue in cheek.

this guy gets it

The whole movie is, you don't need to pretend.

Whereas Ford felt Han Solo's story was done after the first Star Wars and wanted him killed off for decades, he loves Indy and enjoys coming back to the role.

He's currently 73, would probably shoot while he's 74/75. That's fucking old.

How do you know that the movie won't have him playing the old, burnt out mentor type?
Needless to say, I think it's highly unlikely they'll have him doing the usual action shit.
Who cares about fucking Indiana Jones? What we really need is a new Allan Quatermain adventure before it's too late. Those movies were always better.
