In the Loop is probably the closest film today to a Dr Strangelove remake.
If its remade they will either keep it in the time period or retool it to be about ISIS or something.
Actually a funny, political satire war film about ISIS would be pretty entertaining not gonna lie but at that point it would be better served as an individual project and not a remake

The HBO show The Brink is literally a Dr Strangelove remake. Down to the general tone, the 3 prong story featuring the war room, the fighter pilots with a bomb, and the wildcard basically starting the war.
