What are your favorite episode of Top Gear? I've never been into cars but I started watching episodes on plebflix and they're actually pretty funny lads. Are the earlier seasons worth watching? I'm sure the news and new car reveals are horribly outdated now, but are the specials up to par?
>>
vietnam special is goat
>>
>>67050430

Among recent episodes, I recommend the one with the McLaren P1. It was only like last year or the year before they did it.

Among old episodes, I dunno lots of them are good. Just look on wikipedia and see which ones have good cars and shit
>>
>>67050430

I like the ones where they go on weird road trips across the globe. Burma one was great, ditto the various US trips.

Oh and the one where Jackson and May try to understand caravaneers by adopting their lifestyle is fucking hilarious.

The one where they go to spain and half the country is abandoned

Africa special where the mod their cars was pretty good

torrent the UK versions
all other versions are cut to ribbons
>>
dont bother with Series 1
No May and the formula is not right yet
>>
all the specials are generally good except the India one maybe
some of that is horribly forced and it doesn't work. Even the lads say it's not good. But it still has great bits

Because you're pulling this out of your ass

Obviously top gear US is different from the UK because they have entirely different casts but there's not a different broadcast of the UK
>>
>>67051457
Are you pretending to be retarded or what?
>>
>>67050795
Bolivia special is one of my all time favorites. I like all the specials, with India probably being my least favorite.

vietnam and burma specials are great

watch Top Gear on Netflix
big chunks missing compared to the BBC version
this is common knowledge. they cut it for time outside the UK even BBC America
even the Dave repeats in the UK are cut to shreds
>>
>>67051880
no mate it's because you are literally a fucking retard or just trolling
>>
The one where they build their own ambulances was hilarious

How dumb are you?

>>67050430
old seasons are amazing if you want a simpler feel to the show
there's a sweet spot between seasons 10 - 16 maybe

the specials are all worth a watch but the latest 3 or 4 have been quite boring
>>

dude if you watched almost any episode on Netflix you would notice that the transitions between segments are rushed and edited out with a zooming top gear logo

sorry no one's made a comparison video of top gear running times on youtube for you yet
>>
The first African special is probably my favorite.

>You look like a gay cowboy, and you look like a gay terrorist.
>>
>>67052179
I've actually watched the recent episodes on Netflix in the last couple weeks. By recent I mean about seasons 15 to 18, and the music seems to be all in order. There's tons of actual music from either Prodigy or the Arctic Monkeys, as well as the correct music for the Vietnam special so I'd reckon they've gotten their music licenses in order.
>>
>>67052154
go and download the originals and you'll see
I couldn't care less what you think. Why would anyone bother to make this story up?
It's also common knowledge that non-UK broadcasters cut things up for time and also for rights probems. Doctor Who is shorter on BBCA than the BBC
The problem here is not me, it's your general lack of knowledge.
You think this is made up? Fine. Why would I even care mate?
>>
>>67050430
The show is fucking great and their specials are amazing. Like >>67050561 said, Vietnam is goat, first trip to South America, Africa and Middle East are also good.

I've never given a shit about cars, but Top Gear is some of the best shows I've seen, if not the best.
>>
>>67052154
they cut the richard hammond grand entrance after he came back from coma.
>>
>>67052179
thank you
and some news items and guests are often cut entirely
>>
I really enjoyed their road trip episode. I think they were in Africa or something. There was a salt flat and they kept getting stuck so they were ripping shit out of their car to make it lighter. I think there was a white Volkswagen bug following them as their backup car, and I think at some point the air was so thin they had to take viagra to keep their blood pressure low, or something.
>>
Anything where they modify their cars is enjoyable for me.

The Vietnam special is probably the best episode

>>67052218
Rewatched this one yesterday, pretty GOAT
>>
>>67052295
That's the Botswana special, apart from the Viagra bit which is the Bolivia special
>>
>>67052275
Series 10 isn't evening netflix
>>
>>67052287
they change the A-Team theme song to some generic music that sounds like it, but its not the same
>>
>>67050561

this, i wish they did more 2-wheeler stuff, but Clarkson hates it
>>
why are they even bothering with a new cast?
>>
>>67052567
yeah that's one of changes
In the challenge with the 70s British cars there is a Pink Floyd scene which is redubbed and it ruins the joke.
lots of stuff like that. BBCA cut out some guests who American audience might not know too and some of the British orientated news items.
The flashing Top Gear logo is the big clue when there is a cut.
>>
>>67052356
they had some older series on netflix or amazon prime or hulu that had some edited versions of the show. pretty sure i remember watching the torrented version of that episode which had the entrance and at the end of the episode they showed the crash and vowed to never speak of it again. but on the netflix or whatever streaming, its gone.
>>
>>67052666

Satanic trips have spoken. No Top Gear with new cast.
>>
>>67052751
>The flashing Top Gear logo
>britfags are so dumb they need to see a flashing logo every five minutes or else they will forget what show they're watching
>>
>>67052831
the logo is only in the non-UK edit, fuckwit
>>
>>67052904
I've literally just watched series 17-22 onUS Netflix and there is never a flashing logo between segments
>>
>>67052831
BBC shows don't have any watermarks or logos in the corners on the UK broadcasts, pet.
>>
>>67052904
You are mentally ill, mate.
>>
>>67051797
It's true, they have edited some of the episodes.
Was watching the one were they're in India the other day, there's a part where they want to decorate a train carriage with "Eat English Muffins".

The "Muffins" part was stretched over two carriages, so when the train split, it turned in to "Eat English Muff", which was however cut from the episode.

Favourite special is the Bolivia special, especially for this scene. It shows that while they do dick about a lot of the time, they also do some serious stuff too.

My favourite segment is definitely the Peel P50. The amphibious vehicles ones are good too. As for a full non-special episode, I really liked the British Leyland cars one, with the egg/colander test and filling the cars with water.

For the love of all that is Precious, Do go after the one with them in Louisiana or somewheres about where Hurricane Katrina happened. You will be in stitches. Really creepily funny and scary all at once. They took an awful lot of chances.

Who /penistonoils/ here?
>>
I always found the buy a car for this much challenges kinda comfy exspecially the early season ones. Theres a ep where it rained they still did it and it was mostly just the guys talking driving down the freeway tlking to the camera maximum comfy.
>>
do they actually work on the cars or is it just for show and some team does all the work
>>
>>67059960
Hammond is handy with cars, he has a project at home that he works on, May is just handy in general judging from his other shows, they'd probably rip on Clarkson if he didn't also. So I'm guessing yeah they do, especially since everything they make always ends up looking so damn ugly. They probably get help with some things.

>getting in bed on a sunday night around 8-9pm with some milk and biscuits after a hot shower, watching these go on road trips across the uk and the world, not wanting it to end because you have school the next morning
