A Spiderman animated movie could be a great idea, but they need a good animation team like the DC animated movies because if it ends up like every other Marvel animated movie (excluding Planet Hulk) it will be shit.

Its never going to "pop" because all "capeshit" means is movie based on superhero comic book and that can then be a movie about literally anything exploring any topic and having any tone. Its not like young adult science fiction where they have the exact same plots unless you want to be le edgy, cynical jaded outcast and make insane stretches they are all varied and individually entertaining enough that audiences will go to see them because thats what people are interested in at the end of the day and a movie like Fant4stic bombing proves it has nothing to do with brand names but that people just want a solid movie. Unless more than four of them come out within a span of three months it wont be over saturation and there is always more non superhero movies playing than superhero shit. They will never magically just stop making money, at the absolute worst they will all slowly die down but the fact is each one makes more and more money with no current sign of slowing but since they are so popular and even popular on /tv/ itself its cool to hate it more than you otherwise would, right?

That's the thing. Comic characters have always been cool. It's the comics themselves with their clusterfucks of stupidities written by highschool dropouts that gave a bad name to comics. Capeshit is mostly a superior media to present the characters. Not always of course, there is some genius stuff deep beneath the mountains of dreck of what we call comics. But you can't ask someone to dig through that. That's why capeshit is something genius. Iron Man 1, arguably the first capeshit, was a simple stroke of genius.
