How in the fuck would I remember the first movie I downloaded ... it was probably something of Limewire.

I did not download it myself, even though we already had internet access back then.
Friends of a friend had an Internet Cafe and they closed it for a day to download a cam rip of Star Wars the Phantom Menace.
Then it had to be copied to VHS, because back then nobody had a living room PC setup.
Finally the tape arrived at our place, we invited the neighbours over and watched the movie a month before the official release in my country.
Felt like we were on the top of current technological development, part of the internet elite.
Also I copied the VHS and passed it around.

Can't remember the first movie I downloaded myself, I do remember the first Anime episode though, it was Ah! My Mini-Goddess off some Yahoo Group. The episode was 25mb, it took hours and the quality was so bad you could not read the subs.

Fringe s2 e01 was the straw that broke the camel's back.
