This Marc?
>>66926419
"Kermode was born in Barnet, London.[4] He was educated at The Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, an independent boys' school"
Oh it shows, Mark. It shows.
>>66926232
>Television & Film
Podcasts are not a form of art or even entertainment. They are commercials. Get your trash out of here. We need the room for more capeshit threads.
>>66926491
Fuck off
Literally who? What?
>>66926232
I really do think he's a good interviewer, but Marc Maron is an inherently miserable cunt.
>>66926624
>getting triggered by what is clearly a joke
wew.
>>66926637
He has a chia-pet grooming show on a Thai short-wave radio station.
GOAT /tv/ related podcast coming through
>>66926649
Oh right. I missed the capeshit bit at the end. Aren't I silly!
>>66926716
That's good. Joke wears off after a bit though. Best episode isPauly Shore
>>66926232
how can /tv/ stand this failed ''comedian''. I turned off his stand-up special right away.
>>66926735
I don't know, they've been killing it lately. Did you listen to the "We Don't Need Hayes Show" episode where Sean does the show with Jeff Dunham's puppets? It's fucking amazing.
>>66926491
I can't believe >>66926624 took the bait!
>>66926644
Great interviewer, his show is pretty good, and I like his specials but he doesn't make me laugh the same way better comedians do. Then again, I can identify with his bitter, jealous rage and narcissistic pity party self better than I can identify with the "dude I'm a nerd dude I was doing drugs dude weed dude observations lmao" humor of most comedians.
>>66926773
Sick I'll check it out
>>66926232
>It's a Marc creepily keeps a cup the president drank out of episode
>>66926232
>"DUDE STAMPS.COM LMAO"
>>66926232
That's too bad. The episode of his show with Danny Trejo as a miserable old gangster trying to rebuild a relationship with his family was really good and Maron's uncharacteristically upbeat "address" at the end of it amazed me.
(Jesus Christ I was depressed by the Dave Foley episode though.)
>>66926767
Honestly, it's not really surprising that his success has been limited. I don't want to mean and negative but it's hard to say that in a way that isn't harsh. His podcast success is built on his ability to get guests rather than anything else.
>>66928291
The Norm Macdonald Live episode with Maron is one of the better ones because Norm is more serious than usual:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_F-7-546dI
>>66926716
Speak on that
>>66928592
>it's a Sean trips on dragon eggs episode
>>66928490
Marc and Norm's friendship is actually pretty cute desu. Norm went on WTF and just completely lied and made up stories about his childhood and fucked with Maron and he makes fun of Maron's IFC show any chance he gets. Maron and Adam Sandler have a feud and Maron despises most of the Adam Sandler fratty crew. But these two are still buddies anyway out of mutual respect and because they're not booty blasted crybabies.
>>66928667
Yeah, Norm puts up this goofy facade but he's actually a really cerebral guy and Maron likes that about him.
>It's a Marc talks to a musician like he's one too episode
>it's a Marc interviews a musician and pretends he's a musician episode
>it's a Marc interviews a filmmaker and pretends he's a filmmaker episode
>it's a Marc interviews a 23 year old and pretends he's 23 episode
>It's a Chris is extremely positive about everything his guest has done episode.
>>66926716
i think you mean this one
>>66928900
Just got into that recently. MAXIMUM comfy. Matt Gourley's voice is just so soothing to listen to.
>>66928760
>>66928773
In his interview PTA is talking about the girl Joaquin obsesses over in Inherent Vice and he uses the period accurate term "his old lady" to describe her. Maron obviously doesn't realize that it's meant to be a period accurate term and uses the expression "old lady" to describe a woman at least half a dozen times after throughout the episode.
>So how's your old lady Maya Rudolph?
>Yea I get a new old lady and she tolerates it...
>My friend has an old lady like that and she's tough...
>>66928825
Hardwick is really irritating. He's supposed to be a really nice guy and he's good looking, but god he's fucking obnoxiously bland and his brand is irritating as fuck.
>>66929004
Yeah he's similar to Ryan Seacrest.
>"comedy" podcast
>>66926716
What are the best episodes other than the Teen Pope script, the Tom Scharpling saga, the contract negotiation and the one where the New Girl writer gets mad?
>>66929193
I'd recommend:
The We Don't Need Hayes Show
Deadpool, Our Close Friend
B.J. Novak, Our Close Friend(for the Spider-Man script)
Improving Brett's House
I love any of the episodes where they get Brett or Cody involved. Pretty sure it's the only earwolf podcast that utilizes the engineers as part of the show.
>>66929296
It's not the podcaster's fault your mom hugged you too much or not enough
>>66929324
Oh and I'm assuming you heard the most recent one. Sean's adventures while on the phone with Hayes and Tom was one of the funniest episodes of any podcast ever.
>>66929324
Who charted did this first tho
>>66929484
Yeah but why would anyone listen to Who Charted?
>>66929405
There there, Hanschenklein. You'll win next time, right?
>>66929333
You obviously havent listened 300 episodes for 10 hours a day
What a life oy vey
>>66926716
1... 2... 3... Magneto go.
>>66929510
That's true, it is pretty unlistenable compared to HH, CBB, doughboys, etc
Did Pauly Shore actually not understand Hollywood handbook?
Fuck Marc Maron. He's lame and out of touch as fuck. And so is anyone who likes him.
>>66930811
Iliza Shlesinger seemed pretty clueless too.
>>66929132
Stuff like WTF and YMIW aren't meant to be funny. If you want actual comedy in podcast form, listen to Comedy Bang Bang. I personally can't stand it, but it's all bits and jokes.
>>66930952
Holy christ she was UNBEARABLE on Maron's show. She talks about nothing but her fucking service dog (which she doesn't need) and how attractive she is (which she's not).
>>66931185
Whitney Cummings came across as an idiot when she did CBB. If you ever went to see which comedians are actually funny, just pair them with someone as sharp and quick as Scott.
